It's not really the fan thats making the noise but the air generated by the blades in that space..

Installed rear sway bar and its respective parts in my lancer last week.
Install itself was simple since all the mounting pionts exists on the car....., the holes to mount the bar brackets already exist and also the connection pionts for the bar end links already their on the lower control arms. Easy bolt up.
Below the car itself was very dirty so I let/ help my suspension guy did the install since he had a ramp and the tools... just some spanners and torque tool.

Install took approx. 45 minutes.

Due to traffic and wet weather conditions I could not push the car to its limits to see the full effects but on curves / corners body roll is reduced.
I can make sharp turns at higher speeds ( within limits) resulting in rear tyre squeal being completely gone.
Will have to measure the size of the bar but the info I got said it is for the 2.0L lancer.

By the way anyone has bought the new lancers with the 1,6L engines... how is the performance as compared with the 1.5L?

Anthony do you need to remove the rear sway bar from the car to install new shocks.

I bought a used sway bar from ebay and its missing the two metal brackets to mount to the car its a 18mm bar from a wrecked ES 2.0L '09 US lancer. I also bought the end links new but they are made in Taiwan so not sure they are the correct length because I have not gone under the car to see how it mounts.

I have seen bushings with the metal bracket I need online for 10US with urethane bushings.

Can you post a picture up for us to see the installed product. I have some images from the web but its only a partial view it would make install easier if I could show the mechanic a diagram.

If u missing the brackets you missing the mount as well.to remove the shocks it will be easier to undo the sway bar end links.

As sho said , you do not need to remove the bar , just disconnect the respective links..

Here are the instructions from service manual to remove shocks.

1)Remove swaybar link connection from lower arm
2)Remove nut that connects to lower and trailing control arms ie to separate both arms
3)Remove 2 mounting nuts on upper portion of shocks ie in trunk area of car
4)Remove nut on lower shock ie where shocks connect to lower control arm
5) Then remove shock assembly

Will post pics of my install if I get some tine later

Their is a lot of talk about the negative effects of adding bigger rims and tyres on a vehicle with terms such as increased upstrung weight on suspension etc. but exactly how much is considered as being too heavy ?

As stated many posts ago (2 yrs ) I replaced the stock alloy rims and tyres on my car ( 205/16/60 ) with some chromes 225/ 17/ 50.
Today with a bathroom scale I weighed both the stock and upgraded rims and tyres.
The stock rims with tyres and nuts weight approx 38lbs each.
The upgraded rims with tyres and nuts weight between 48 - 50 lbs each.

Now is this considered too heavy to cause problems ?
Suspension experts, mechanics , comment.

OK people , vehicle is 2 yrs old and approx 44000 km.
Service ABS message came up yesterday.
Had the rear right sensor replaced by DM today under warranty.

By the way with the stock alloy rims and tyres the car picks up way better.

Went to fill up lunch time and told the woman I wanted a fill up of Premium. By the time I got out the car and reach the pump I saw she had the Super nozzle and had already put about $35 (13litres). I told her stop and switch to Premium. Got about $140 (35litres) premium in. Would that super in the mix affect anything significant?

Saw some of the previous posts where some users (Anthony) said they put super with no real losses but not sure. Calling DM service but not getting through with anybody.

@Dizzy28 same thing happend to me a time but ratio was closer to half/half...nothing happened in the end. Next time I filled up I just put the premium with some octane boost (for what its worth)

Last week " refuel " message came on since tank was less than 1/8.
Put in super since they had no premium available ....$ 120 super as compared to $190 premium.
No problems so far but would not make it a habit.
Naturally DM would say premium ... they have a big notice stuck on their service bay walls.
The 2.0L can use super.
