Shell and Castrol each have a pretty good coolant, that I believe are aluminium safe, but generally speaking I'd stick to Manuf. or their recommended products.

OR. Get another manuf OE coolant that is known be aluminium safe, due to block material eg Honda, Subaru

The Honda and Scooby came with Aluminium engine blocks. The coolant would have to be alum safe!

I had used a 50/50 mix of NP Radol (concentrate) and distilled water in an aluminium radiator before it developed a pinhole leak after 9 years.

I used to flush out the cooling system every 20,000km and I got about close to 200,000km out of that radiator.

From my experience prestone is a bit on the acidic side I could be wrong. As stated earlier stick to an oem coolant...

dont use ethylene glycol coolant, ie prestone etc. Use the OEM brand of coolant for your vehicle, if that isnt available and your vehicle is asian, use Zeerex for asian vehicles. Ethylene glycol coolants do attempt to protect the aluminium surfaces by forming a layer on the aluminium, however, this reduces the efficiency of the entire cooling system heat exchange surfaces.

Yes Zerex is safe to use apart from it being cheap $60.00 per gallon its affordable and its safe to use in aluminum radiator.
If u have doubts about it go wit d oem brand. But zerex is safe.
