Was the Toyota Hilux Surf ever sold brand new in Trinidad? or were they all foreign used? Why are the resale values so high for vehicles on the road over 10 years now?

Local version sold was the Toyota 4 Runner. More or less the same vehicle, but the imported used versions were better equipped. Locally they were sold around PAY series for over 200k

even on trini cars for sale, the sellers post price but don't post mileage. I'm positive that the majority of these vehicles pushing 200,000 kilometers and more.

You can get a pickup 10 yrs less in age for the same price. The only benefit is the auto granny which defeats the offroad experience / capability.

I am the owner of a 1996 Toyota Hilux Surf with the original 1 KZ engine. I bought and licensed the vehicle through the Treasury Department in 2001 since I was a Travelling Officer. I paid the legal $70,000.00 to register the vehicle and still have the receipt to prove. I use the vehicle once or twice a year because I have a few other vehicles. I am thinking about selling it for about $140,000.00 negotiable. Everything is original and untouched - it was spot painted in 2001, never hit, repaired and I use Royal Purple oil and original filter from Toyota. I also have a spare 1KZ engine, transmission, transfer case, front end, back end and five doors that I brought in from Japan. If anyone is interested please call 748-8061. Mileage about 140,000 km genuine.

AdamB - I have a Prado, Toyoto Vigo, Navara, Frontier, Ford and 4 Mazda B2500 Company Pick-Ups - they just can't compare Bro.

SmokeyGTI - I paid $ 135,000.00 Vat Inclusive plus the Licensing Office Reg fee $62,804.00 since I was exempted from $ 7,196.00 as a Government Travelling Officer and also I got back the vat amount on $75,000.00 which was the maximum Government loan at the time. That model surf was exclusive and expensive since it had the same 1KZ engine as the Prado that was selling in Toyota at the time.
