Conditions were surprisingly pleasant at Arima Club’s Car Park given the inclement weather experienced the day before for the ninth installment of the Trinidad and Tobago Karting Association’s championship series. While some pooling was evident the running surface was dry enough to give competitors the opportunity to use their racing slicks. Although the rain threatened for the greater portion of the day’s event conditions held up nicely allowing the event to be executed un-encumbered.

September 4th saw TTKA hold their 7th event of the season. After a summer break, many drivers seemed to have developed cobwebs that took a while to scatter. The weather did not help with the intense heat causing some sluggishness amongst the drivers . By the time the final heats of the day came around, however, most had gotten their groove back as these last races proved to be the most exciting.

The TTKA wrapped up their 2010 championship year with the kind of excitement you would expect from this crop of drivers. Some were out there racing for a championship, others for pride but every driver wanted to finish the year on high. While a few left the event on Sunday with momentum at their backs the majority know they have work to do in the off season if they are going to take the top spot in 2011.
