The 3rd annual Total Trailblazers All Terrain SUV & 4×4 Run will be held on Sunday 23rd September (the day before the holiday) from 7:00 AM starting and ending at the Caroni Bird Sanctuary. Competitors will be sent from the Caroni Bird Sanctuary on a navigational off-road run throughout central Trinidad where they will be required to collect some “Treasures” along the way. Anyone who has competed in this event before can attest that these “Treasures” tend to be very whimsical and lend an interesting twist to the event. The navigational section takes competitors to Indian Trail where they will compete in the first of the Special Stages for the day.

The day began in earnest with a 7am call time at the Caroni Bird Sanctuary. Mitsubishi L200s, Ford Rangers, Land Rovers, Range Rovers Suzuki Jimnys, Toyota Hiluxes, Mazda BT50s, and even a chop-top, door-netted Nissan Patrol were gearing up for a taste of the TOTAL Trailblazers 4×4 Annual All Terrain Challenge event. Last year there was so much rain that the King of the Hill had to be cancelled but this year, things seemed off to a great start.

It’s here again. The Total Trailblazers All Terrain SUV & 4X4 Run. Saturday 24th September 2011 from 7:00 AM at the Caroni Bird Sanctuary. The pre-race briefing will be held at Josef’s Sports Bar and Lounge, Eleanor Street, Chaguanas on Thursday 22nd September 2011 @ 7:00 PM. This year’s event is being held in Memory and Honor of Reyard Khan. Some of you may have known him from the Trailblazers Club with the AC Delco Suzuki Jimny, some of you may have known him from High Road Maintenance, and some of you may remember him as the Tractor Man in Last Year’s King of The Hill Special Stage.

The Trinidad and Tobago Off Road Club held its first extreme 4×4 competition for the year on the 15th August. This event took place at Herring’s Quarry located at Grant Road, Rousillac and was open to competitors from both the Trailblazers and TTORC. Since the skies had dumped rain in the morning, the course posed a great challenge with all the mud and slush. Over ten Suzukis, a lone Nissan Patrol, and V8 powered Hilux each set out to try and finish the technical course with the least amount of time.
