While most of you were tucked away under your blankets on Sunday, the Trinidad and Tobago Karting Association hosted its third even of the 2013 season. Despite overcast skies and a wet track, this race meet was the most successful for the year. The 2013 Championship series continued on Sunday 10th March as the Trinidad and Tobago Karting Association hosted their second event of the year. Qualifying for pole positions started things off and with times fractions of seconds apart, each class promised an action packed day.Full Story
Karting action kicked off on Sunday 17th February to signal the start of the 2013 Karting Season. In the most exciting set of heats for the day, the Rotax International class started off with newcomers Aaron Ramsey (#43) in his first ever Karting race. Moving up from 100 CC class to a more competitive arena we have the likes of newcomers Che Carrington (#175) and Shane Pinheiro (#29). Marc Gill (#8) also joined the Rotax International class for the 2013 season. Dominating the first race of the season we had Che Carrington blasting off and improving his time with every lap of the 10 lap heat. Race meet # 4 @ the ARC Car park got off without a hitch.. On this event the racers drove in an anti clockwise direction. This proved a challenge for some while others shined. All Competitors were expecting rain clouds to rear its ugly face but somehow it only arrived after the day’s event. Instead the sun came out with a vengeance and the humidity was high, making for a hot dry day.Full Story
Cadet Class saw the young Frankie Boodram take full points on the day, winning all three heats , followed by Mathew Phillips and 3rd Rossi Lochan.
In the Minimax class, it was Enrique De Leon taking the spoils of the day all his heats followed by Jonmycal Sant in 2nd. The new Rotax Junior class was nothing short of exciting. The consistent and hard working Amir Mohammed came 1st overal and it should be noted his laptimes dropping throughout all 3 heats, Nicholas Madden took 2nd , keenly followed by Tye Carrington.
It started out as a rainy day and most drivers were looking to the sky and hoping for the sun to come out. Thankfully it did and the rest of the day proved to be a hot one, both on and off the track.Full Story
The rain skirted Arima Race Club for TTKA’s event # 6 this past Sunday 17th July. With only four more events left for the rest of the 2011 season, there were some important points to be earned. The race day provided lots of excitement, despite the smaller competitor group than usual, particularly with the anti clockwise race direction, which, on previous occasions, provided some gripping entertainment.Full Story
