I’m sure at some point in your life you’ve encountered a tiny aggressive dog- all bark and skin teeth but walk up close and they shut right up.
Unfortunately this weekend Tropical Storm/Hurricane Danny was of the same caliber. Horrendous weather all week caused the Trinidad and Tobago Automobile Association (TTASA) to cancel their National Circuit racing event yet the weekend brought sunshine. But the event already cancelled what we supposed to do?
The President of TTASA Mr. Mohammed Ali said his association has started the clearing of an area immediately north of the Camden runway / drag strip that will be used for a circuit racing track. Mr. Ali said the new circuit will be 1.1 miles long and will be more or less a mirror image of the track at Wallerfield. He said the new track being constructed will be 40 feet wide and paved with asphalt with wider sections at the corners with sand traps.Full Story

The FIA Institute is to host its latest regional development event in Cartagena, Colombia on 29th July, with a focus on Latin America. The event will be attended by FIA National Sporting Authorities (ASNs) from across the region and will coincide with the 13th FIA American Congress taking place there. FIA President Todt’s entourage includes several key individuals such as the Vice President of FIA and President of NACAM FIA Mr. Jose Abed, other members of the NACAM FIA board, Chairman of the FIA Institute Mr. Enzo Spano, and presidents of selected ASNs, for a total head count of about 22 elite. And our country, instead of reading about it in the headlines, can boast that we do have a representative included in this entourage – Mr. Selwyn Persad.Full Story
The governing body for motor sports in T&T – Trinidad & Tobago Automobile Sports Association (TTASA) – has selected a three-man team to represent Trinidad & Tobago at the Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club’s (GMR&SC) first drag racing championship event at the newly refurbished South Dakota Racing Circuit.
