Sorry for the late response.

Is that's the tweeter that comes in the dash from the factory?

Yes

6.5” subs

Dual 6.5” Sundown, powered by subwoofer channel of a Alpine v9.
IIRC it’s 1 cf net tuned to 33hz. Sounds great in the van. Loud enough as well.

Re: Building a house in Trinidad

Hey,

I heard an ad on the radio a couple weeks ago about a construction company doing full builds and they will pay for any cost over-runs or a free pool.

Unfortunately I was driving so I didn’t get to take down the name.

Anybody heard the ad and can provide the name?

Re: Small SQ Install

Amp is 40Wx8 into 4 Ohms and 60Wx8 into 8 Ohms. The JBL site says that the amp output capability is as follows: RMS Power Output @ 2Ω 60W x 8, <1% THD+N RMS Power Output @ 4Ω 40W x 8, <1% THD+N Looks like a nice little thing, and not too pricey for what it does, because after all, you're getting bu...

Re: Small SQ Install

Good job.

Does the amp portion provide sufficient overall output?

In relation to the sub, not sure if you mentioned if it is sealed/ported? Is the output sufficient to overcome the noise floor of the jeep (which I may be incorrectly assuming is high)

Np300 - SQ Install

With regard to the subwoofer. The 13tw5 was removed. It would not fit in the new design due to height restrictions and also material restrictions (i.e. 3/4" mdf). It may work if the box is a hybrid fiberglass/mdf composition. A 10tw3 was used instead. The box was constructed entirely from 3/4&q...

Re: Np300 - SQ Install

With regard to the Subwoofer box. I removed the fiberglass box, as it flexed a lot and fixing it would have been prohibitive in terms of time and money. I remeasured the existing space and came up with a design. For this design the vents needed to be sealed. I used sheet metal. Initially, I put sili...

Np300 - SQ Install

As usual I forget to update the post. Basically a few things have been completed. The dash mounted midrange was been reworked. There was a crack on the windscreen of the van for quite some time. It started to run and became significant enough to warrant changing. The windscreen guys said they did at...

Re: 2013 Toyota Rav4

Next up was the amp rack. This vehicle has a plastic compartment in the trunk in front of the spare tire. This was removed to make the space for the amp rack. What you see here is the second iteration of the rack, using 2 amps and the passives instead of 3 and the DSP. Pretty straightforward fabrica...

The speaker rings were made from 0.75" acryllic and painted black. This material is a challenge to work with. Normal woodworking tools are used, but great time and effort is required. Access to a CNC or a mill would make it a lot easier. The back of the rings were bored to the nut and bolt for ...

The in-between imo is a larger speaker---say an 8 inch woofer Or If u sticking to the 6inch size use separate speakers instead of a component set. Separate speakers with a bit more power handling and ts specs based on your application E.g) sb acoustic, dayton, silver flute, stevens audio etc and ma...

Re: Np300 - SQ Install

The box was fiberglassed, trimmed and sanded. Not going to use body filler to get it smooth as it will be carpeted and also going behind the seat where it will not be seen Couple of things to note. It is a tight fit, but it fits without any mods. The base has about 1/2" - 3/4" free space b...
