Re: Project: Add bass to factory setup

Trying to score some good quality 6.5 coaxials and 6x9 coaxials for a budget of 1k. Loud and Clear has Orion right now on sale. Might go that route. Of course I'm not going to do it myself - checking back KREN Tech for install. We'll see how this goes. You're in good hands there. We'll see pics soo...

Re: Anything wrong with high level inputs?

I've used high level inputs already to use an amp with an OEM headunit and to me, there was no ill effect from doing so. I think in your case, it should not have any advantage or disadvantage from doing so. The only downside I can think of is that if you decide to change your proposed amp to one tha...

If I had to do that build, I would not use the passives. The MS8 is more than capable of processing that setup.

Re: Prius Audio Upgrade

Different people have different taste in sound yes. Mario is a meca competitor and iirc iasca, last I took a listen to his vehicle I found it very bright to me. Seems I like it kinda dull and relaxed compared to others. So I guess taste in sound varies from person to person. He may like how that so...

Re: Subwoofer for small space?

The actual response is not going to look anything like that. It looks like not even the impact of Le is taken into consideration in that plot, and Le is going to be pretty high, unless the subwoofer has a really good motor that's designed to lower Le (most car audio subs do not fit into this catego...

The in car response graph is based on the generalized cabin gain that BB6 suggests starting from 50Hz.

later on u cud always use d whole amp for mids & get a dedicated mono for bass , u know how it does go when u start i agree 60x4 for daily mids is sufficient , u can even enhance ur door sounds by sound deadening it , about $130ish a sheet , 2 sheets\door , makes a huge difference but its up to...

Yup. Sure did.

They are REALLY impressive in terms of output. They played strong down to 50Hz. I couldn't determine how high they were playing.

Re: Small Car audio build--(Sq)--rebuild time

Your system has way more midbass output than mine. That output was really impressive. Your treble is a lot more relaxed too. Mine would be considered 'bright' compared to yours.

I think you should definitely try 3 way. You'll love it.

I'd run it at 1ohm, more power is always a good thing. I doubt you would discern the difference in damping factor. I know I won't be able to.

Re: Centre image too wide

You're running the fronts actively?

I would TA the mid and tweet separately even though TA really does not work on tweeters. Also try L-R EQ if that's available to you.

I've had dead on center imaging with door mids and sail panel tweeters before.

Re: Advice with sq install

How about, you use the two 2 channel amps you have on the front stage, put the focals on deck power , and maybe consider putting the midrange high up on the dash or pillar, on axis.

So use the woofers on one amplifier and then the mid and tweeter on the other amplifier.
