Re: Did you get your Flu Shot ?

the 2019 flu shot has a real world expected efficacy of 20%. Think about that before going for the flu shot.

Not to be confused with a stated expected efficacy of 40%(stated by the vaccine manufacturer), which is never the actual case.

Re: Nissan recall - If youre looking at 2015 X-trail Hybrids-BEWARE!

Estimated costs and what symptoms exactly to look out for ? At a transmission rebuilder, you're looking at about $15,000 for the rebuild. Symptoms include harsh changeover from electric to engine, delay to drive in electric mode when the accelerator pedal is depressed and constant noise while vehic...

Re: Nissan recall - If youre looking at 2015 X-trail Hybrids-BEWARE!

Both issues are repairable locally. I've fixed both previously. obviously, its not ideal, but for those who purchased these when the tax break was in place the savings still made them worth buying. Did you have to pay for it or did the RORO dealer honor anything? or perhaps you brought in yourself?...

Re: Cancer treatment

Quality of life is the key thing to consider. Cancer treatment will absolutely take away quality of life. Chemo and radiation are archaic treatments, however, that's what's available today. If your relative has decent quality of life as is, he/she may want to consider skipping treatment depending on...

I actually imported and sold this when I'd just started my garage. Seafoam is nice, but there are more effective ways and more effective chemicals. It is designed to be delivered to the engine in 3 different ways, as far as I know, no other off the shelf product can/should be used thus.

I've used this to start a crown(2.5 v6) with a weak battery and a mazda 6(2.0 L4) with a dead battery that would not even attempt to turn over. Strangely, it will start those two easily but will not start a BMW 116i(1.6 L4). It is an excellent bargain considering the price online, it works and can a...

shindaiwa > stihl,

not that its a competition, but the shindaiwa will usually start in fewer pulls and practically last forever once the premix is good. Stihl, also will usually be problem free, get a german made Stihl, the south american equipment is not as reliable or well built.

Re: 2001 BMW E39 Restoration Work

here's a tip, a misfire on cylinder 1 and 3 doesnt necessarily indicate both coils are bad. with the m54, bad spark on cylinder 1 will also cause cylinder 3 to throw a misfire code. You'll need to clear the codes and restart, see which cylinder misfires first, replace that coil and you'll be okay. t...

Re: Take Note: GATE - September 2017

If 60k is too high for a MSc in your mind, then it's clearly not going to yield sufficient benefit, cost considered. Point is, this is a clear indicator that pulling gate from that program was a good idea. You personally don't see it as being worth the cost, but don't mind if taxpayers foot the bill.

Re: Grand Vitara low idle

Negative, I've encountered this issue on a SX4 before. Research indicated that some early suzuki e-throttles were buggy. A customer purchased a f.used e-throttle and the problem persisted. Finally was able to get one that sorted out the issue.

That's pretty much a last resort though.
