Re: 3zz (nze/altis) engine rattling noise problem at start u

The timing chain will usually make a constant ridiculous racket when its bad. I feel it may be the vvt timing gear. If it was the bottom end it would usually be because u have a worn bearing or a spun bearing and that would be like a jack hammer all the time. When u start take a listen by the left o...

Re: altis back shock

I agree with toyolink, you will have to do a shock and spring upgrade. Shocks control spring movement without them you would just bounce down the road. In your case your spring rate is too soft so shocks will not help you. Ideally you should do a aftermarket spring and shock combo, but this will sti...

Re: corolla nze - suspension noise?

Could be rack ends, check milage mack on mucurapo rd in POS, they can do a suspension check and i always find that they get to the bottom of it. Then its a matter of changing the part they say is faulty.

Re: Super in a VVTLi?

Dont do it. These engines were made to run on 100 octane fuel. Even if u dont knock your ignition will run so retarded you will never see the true potential of the engine. Fact is our gas is balls, our premium is more like 93 and super is like 89 and super has a red dye in it so they can tell the di...

Small ports never had TVIS only the big ports. Toyota Variable Intake System (TVIS) which is a set of four butterflies located in the inlet system next to the head. These butterflies are shut below approximately 4500 RPM, effectively blocking airflow to one valve per cylinder, increasing the air spe...

Re: 20" RIM ON NZE HELP NEEDED!!

Interesting that the talk is about a bad ride quality and no one has asked how the car was "dropped" I would attribute poor ride quality firstly to the type of spring and shock used. If you dropped on the stock shock u are probably riding on your bump stop all day and that will make the ca...

Re: Any reviews on the 2008/2009 corolla

yes you can use super although it sucks ass. The car itself is brilliant. They moved the engine back a bit and so front end grip and balance is great and fitted it with bigger brakes than the nze corolla and even though its heavier it doesnt feel slower. It handles very well and im sure it crashes v...

Re: NZE cold power problem???? where the toyota guru's @

Its common. When the car is cold it runs stupidly rich. Do not run the car hard when its cold and do not mash to the ground you only making it worse. Switching gas will probably not help. Is it worse when the weather is cold?

Re: Light modding of Corolla 1NZ-FE Engine: Advice Wanted

Do your intake, do your exhaust and do yah suspension. You are not going to make big power with the 1nz. If you want power swap a 2zz other than that make it breathe a bit better and sound better and sort yah suspension out. At the end of the day the most fun you can have is in a car that handles ve...
