K74 L200 gearbox issue

Good day,

When shifting to 2nd and 3rd i am getting a slight grate. Shifting to 4th and 5th is smooth.

Now if i hold the clutch down and let the rpm drop before shifting the grating is less or none at times.

Anyone has experience with this? and the possible causes/fix?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Battery Light not coming off.

When u took the alternator to be checked did they bench test it? This would prove it is good. Part of the bench testing is the light going off similar to the light on the dash and it becoming hard to turn.

Re: K74 l200 thermostat... Can I remove it?

Sounds like the clutch fan is in need of some silicone oil. The fan doesn't spin much on idle and the temp goes up. Doesn't help the AC condenser cool down either.

Re: Help! Idle fluctuates with A/C on.

Had a problem where the AC was pulling down the idle. Turned out to be a faulty condenser. The pressure on the high side was above 300. The compressor was harder to turn so it loaded the engine a lot more.

WTK: Modify Box Lancer gas tank for internal pump

Anyone did the modification on a Box Lancer gas tank to use an internal fuel pump? Just wanted to know the best way to do it.

Don't want to mess with the fuel gauge and that's the only access point from inside the trunk.

Thanks.

Re: WTK: 99-00 SiR Auto Tranny rebuild kit

so i ordered the kit (seal kit, filter, clutches and steel plates) and did the rebuild myself.

With the original SiR tranny, you need to buy two kits to get all the parts you need. The CRV tranny that some guys use in SiR uses only one kit.

So far the tranny is working perfectly.

ZIM, thanks.

I have been able to establish that the same brand available online (transtec) is also sold by the Auto Supplies ppl in Chag. so i can assume the quality is the same.

I have also seen three kits - Master kit, Banner Kit and overhaul kit

so does anybody have an inexpensive scan tool that works with D22 frontier or other Japanese vehicles?

Re: Timing belt change and problem.

i have seen this with a 4g15 carb engine that i did some work on. so i took a chance with a fix that i'm sure other ppl wont bother to try. I took the crank pulley and gear to a machine shop, got it drilled and tap to use two 12mm bolt. i bolted the gear to the pulley so that there will be no 'play'...
