Re: Post your engine oil / grade / price / location

Which delvac did you use? (MX, 1300, 1 ESP). I'm not sure but I think mannol is blended by Wolf lubricants... Or it used to be at some time.

Re: How often should you change your oil?

Good Day Reviving a somewhat old thread to continue a discussion on oil change intervals that kinda developed in the New Vehicle Prices thread. So to the discussion: https://blog.modbargains.com/15000-mile-oil-change-myth/ I agree that 3000 mile (5000km) oil changes are a bit short, but after seeing...

With how games are being released now... Makes more sense to pirate it to see if the game is finished/and or worth your money.

Piracy is today's shareware...[emoji52]

Re: Gov't lost $350m from tax waivers on hybrid vehicles

That is a bit of false equivalency... How can you predict how something will sell if the conditions under which the items were sold are different.

They might not have sold so many hybrids if they had taxes and duties on them in the first place.

oh yes, the left foot braking technique, used by Tiida professional racing drivers! I hope you know i'm not referring to the track. Unless you're a racing driver, don't try to pass off this bs technique to regular drivers as normal instructions for controlling the vehicle on the roads. Do it on the...

Yep I use my left foot for brake right for accelerator if the vehicle is auto. Doesn't really work in a manual on the road.

Re: T&T OFFICIAL New Vehicle Prices & Discussion Thread

SLVR1 you are on point! Concerning the 5,000 change interval for some dealers, they say that T&T is classified as "severe weather conditions" with: 1. A lot of grid lock traffic 2. Poor roads 3. Dusty environment/atmosphere 4. A lot of short stops 5. Temperatures here can get really h...

Re: T&T OFFICIAL New Vehicle Prices & Discussion Thread

I believe I mentioned this before... Each party is looking out for their own interest. The manufacturer wants to sell cars so that market longer oil change intervals and say things like lifetime fluid/no fluid changes required to lower your perceived cost of ownership. The dealer is trying to make a...

There are a couple of components that go into this but I will try and highlight what I have pieced together. hp numbers by themselves are a waste of time. (Eg. 160hp) the number by itself doesn't tell you anything about how the engine producers this power. Adding information like engine size, fuel t...

Re: Toyota Surfs,Hilux and 4X4s.

What I was alluding to is that it is easier to slide or drift a vehicle when the two wheels on either the front or rear axle are moving at the same speed but are required to move at different speeds (i.e. when turning a corner). If the front axle is locked up, turning becomes difficult and you will ...

That doesn't look safe for street use It is actually quite safe ....I have on the rear and front of my Hilux and I use my van regularly the front however is disconnected via the freewheeling hubs as Jackal mentioned Unlocked hubs in the front are ok... That looks iffy if it is in the rear on a seal...

That is just more people breaking the law; 65kph for heavy T vehicles etc., loaded dump trucks and 18 wheelers shouldn't be gunning.
But most people obey the unwritten law
Might is Right, even when it's wrong it is right.

So.... just in case anyone was still interested.... I finally got back the vehicle a few weeks ago. Getting the parts was the main issue. The ring-sets for the pistons were particularly difficult. Anyways, some damage was done. Apparently a fouled scraper ring (did I get that right?) on one piston ...

Re: T&T OFFICIAL New Vehicle Prices & Discussion Thread

Thanks for the responses. I was wondering about total cost of ownership of some vehicles as some might think that are saving by purchasing a relatively cheaper vehicle up front, but when parts need replacing (out of warranty) you can end up with very similar costs overall. Colleague had a Hyundai th...
