Re: Tech Thread - Toyota Hilux...D4D and all older models.

Might sound far fetched... Are you using the correct (size) brake pads. I'm also asking if the spring (small leaf type) is present to hold the pads in place

Re: Tech Thread - Toyota Hilux...D4D and all older models.

I mean I never mentioned flushing...I did say I change the fluid in the reservoir every oil change; reducing and diluting the contaminants in the system. Same thing I do with my transmission... It is a bit lazy but I think it better overall than waiting the entire period before changing... If you ch...

Re: Tech Thread - Toyota Hilux...D4D and all older models.

Used a battery water filler (looks like a turkey baster but more suited to what you want to do). Remove fluid from reservoir and refill (I use Castrol Dex/Merc). I do this once every oil change. how difficult to do the power steering fluid change ? i need to do that. Back to servicing the Tonka truc...

Barbagreen(pardon the spelling) for road paving aggregate/bitumen mix

Re: Tech Thread - Toyota Hilux...D4D and all older models.

Back to servicing the Tonka truck. Changed brake pads to Bosch; still bedding them in. Better initial bite than oem so far. Also drained some brake fluid and refilled with ferodo DOT4. Drained and refilled ATF in pan once; currently do this every 30000kms using Mobil 1. Changed power steering fluid ...

Re: *** The official car accident thread***

That tire is damning evidence of the BMW owner's attitude and state of mind on the roads toward other drivers. Anyone can see it's almost bald on treading, and that it's uneven wear. A tire shop would never NOT balance a new tire or rotate the tires at a maintenance check, so I would have to assume...

It is actually being used for its intended purpose. However if you are using it as a transport for hire without stating such to the insurance company... That is where it will be tricky

The same Bridgestone dueler supplied oem on many vehicles work fine on suv cars But are death trap on pickups. SUV tyres do perform better than pickup tyres on the road Unfortunately besides the rims/tyres(nothing over 18" please.) and putting more weight over the rear axle (think engine block or bags of cement). the other things involve adjusting the squishy bit behind the steering wheel. Have to learn...

Re: The *Official* [IDIOT DRIVER OF THE DAY] Thread

You brought up the right or wrong bit in your first post. I understand what you are saying but 1.5 metres could potentially save you more than one hour; cause if you had an accident you have to report it to the police, insurance and all the other running around involved. It helps to know the type of...

Re: The *Official* [IDIOT DRIVER OF THE DAY] Thread

Had an encounter yesterday with a woman in a Hilux at a roundabout. Heavy inching traffic, i'm entering the roundabout. Big truck in the outer lane waved me in. Inner lane was Hilux with all the chrome bumper trim and accessories to make it a low orbit spaceship, and it was the stereotypical short ...

I have a question; Does anyone here believe that electronic driving aids/technology (ABS, ESP, TC, etc) compensate for the deficiencies in cheap chinese tyres. I am starting to think so. Either HiFly tyre technology has improved or my driving is adapted to piss poor grip (or maybe both). Now i reall...

Could it be the turbo is leaking? The van is doing just under 200k kms, I'm not sure what to do next because it's kinda defeating the purpose for which I bought it. Should the engine be rebuilt or get a F/U head and block. Idk, but first I need to know what's the issue so I can go about making a de...

Re: B-2500 Burning oil

I'm trying to figure out that as well with a van at work. I believe the engine is tired; the rings are worn. You would hardly see any blue smoke simply because it burns off better in a diesel than in a has engine. What you will notice is the difference in the smell compared to other diesels; it will...

I plan to use it for quite a while still... When I change brake pads I'll let you know how it goes.

Re: Tech Thread - Toyota Hilux...D4D and all older models.

Essentially the brakes are normal when cold and warm... But if I keep pouring heat into them (using them aggressively)they will start to judder. I'm applying the same pedal pressure, but the feeling of deceleration is pulsing; the hotter it gets, the worse it gets. Pedal does not pulse but the feeli...

So recently I started to experience brake judder. It happens when the brakes get hot; and I only experienced it after having to cross 8 humps twice between Fyzabad and Santa Flora while giving the brakes a hard time. I've experienced slight pulsing before but nothing this prominent Currently have 96...

It's a Daewoo with a different badge.

Also general motors doesn't really care much for the customer. Lack of aftermarket parts. All lead to low desirability which means that demand is also low

How did you determine RAM is not an issue. How old is the system/components in the system.
