Re: Tech Thread - Toyota Hilux...D4D and all older models.

No EGR My mileage calculation shows reduced mileage(like 8.5km/l)but I am running a larger tyre and wheel than the stock 15s (265/70r17) and I let my van idle more than usual. I haven't cleaned a thing... Except injector cleaner/diesel additives over the course of 141000kms Everything else regularly...

Re: WTK New Tucson issues

Short recommendations here to help increase the longevity of your vehicles paint.

Use a car wash specific soap when washing your vehicle.

Apply some sort of wax or sealant from a known brand after washing to help protect the paint.

Note: wash and wax products don't count as applying wax

Re: The *Official* [IDIOT DRIVER OF THE DAY] Thread

I miss the old school speeders... They drove fast with purpose, able to read the road ahead. A lot easier to understand. Nowadays I see idiots who speed with no purpose. They just see a space and they are quick to fill it not understanding anything beyond the car in front of them. There are also idi...

Why is that car almost at a stop on the left lane when the light is green (for what appears to be the duration of this video) and nothing in front of that car is causing it to drive that slowly?

I use Waze and I update the maps when I can.

Both apps have their questionable moments.
I still wish I could red zone certain locations or roads for personal use though

Still trying to understand, why no car manufacturer has decided to make an ev and cover the roof, hood and trunk lid of with solar panels. Car will charge itself while parked, even while in use, and save the owner some money on the electric bill. Because generating approximately 8Kwh in one day giv...

What is your vehicle warranty worth to you. Does the Stealership that represents the vehicle you bought, have a track record of honoring warranty claims. In my case it wasn't worth it...I never went back after the 1000km check. But my vehicle is from a Japanese brand, uses a standard double din deck...

Re: Constant coil-pack failure, especially after CNG install.

Could try reducing the spark plug gap Thanks for the reply. But how exactly doe's that work? As, apart from changing oil, a tire, and things of that nature I'm not mechanically inclined at all. Smaller gap requires less voltage from the coil to spark (jump the gap) Could try down to 0.8-0.9mm I saw...

That was the old sign to stop people from using the unopened road... It was dug up at a point in time before now to prevent vehicular access to the road.

Not sure if illegal but wouldn’t be the first local car without a spare. Some cars have run flats or a tyre repair kit.

Re: Looking for advice in choosing a good reliable new vehicle

My opinion is not to bother with the wheel speed sensor. Get better tyres(well known brand, slightly wider and taller) and better brakes. Learn the car as it approaches the limit (open road, wet road). On the reliable vehicle front... Not sure how you feel about a manual pickup Dmax and maybe Nissan...
