Re: Water pump

I usually advise my customers that if the cost of repairs crosses more than half the cost of a new pump, they should consider buying a new pump once their budget can allow.

Why bother to even post anything if it will be hijacked and then lauded by RedVEVO and his admirers? Why bother to type anything to help someone else? Then those people just sign o...

Re: Help---Goulds Water pump prob (vid)

buy a good quality brand pressure tank, like wellxtrol Goulds motors are much beefier than the competition, if you just look at the motor windings it is chalk and cheese. Had the wellxtrol... Take a look at switch...change it? If the pump will not function while the pressure terminals are touching ...

well that means the pressure tank diaphragm is busted, have to get a new one and we need to figure out why it not lasting. Before this was it functioning normally ? what was/is the cutoff pressure switch psi which your pump would stop at ? assuming you have a pressure gauge on the pump. If the cuto...

Re: Water pump

SmartHeads come on and off based on flow, not pressure. If you lock off the discharge valve and it cuts off, you have a leak somewhere after that valve.

Re: Water pump

Hmm. Alot of advice in here. Once you have a minimum 18liter Pressure Tank on your 1/2 to 1 HP Jet Pump you can set your pressure switch to cut off at 60PSI or even 70 psi to ensure that the pump stays on while water is in use. (This cut off pressure depends on if your plumbing can handle the code o...

Which model pump is this?
If it's one where you can see the fan at the back, see if you can spin the fan while it's humming. If the pump comes on, it's the capacitor.
