Yeah car has been scanned multiple times, no check light. The ICM might be running too much dwell time and saturating the coil packs causing heating. In effect START mode (Low voltage cranking needs more dwell) is active all the time instead of RUN ( 14.4V needs less dwell to charge the coil) mode. ...
BTW: Here is a complete resource on the different types of coil packs and their wiring (2,3,4 wire) http://opensiuc.lib.siu.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1025&context=auto_pres Also a wireless coil pack, spark voltage, spark duration and tachometer testing device. https://www.youtube.com/watch...
Hi every month or so one of the coil packs dies, different ones. I am considering doing the following sequence and evaluating. 1) A grounding kit 2) Replacing coil pack connectors 3) replacing the ignition control module (maybe it's keeping the coil packs on start mode during run resulting in higher...
Got a problem with an AD wagon 'parked up' for a year. That happened cuz the A/c died and I had other cars to use. 1) First no fuel flow.....ok so reverse voltage on the pump for 10 secs cleared the jam and fuel pumping again. 2) She starts easy every time...and runs for 5 to 10 sec before dying off...
Desulfation is only one factor in battery degradation. It's like saying you got the 'virus' when you're sick....what does that really mean other than you are sick? From a 'cure' point of view, here are the following potential issues that have to be addressed. There are progressive failure modes and ...
Have a 2k5, SR20VET Xtrail , safari lights, chipped ECU, s/s exhaust system, coil overs, 18" rims, new tyres, Bull bars, s/s tailgate bumper plate. Fogs, factory HID. Only about 50K kms, clearly I don't get to drive it much with 3 other cars in the yard. Works fine. Going to prep. her for sale ...
Improper battery care or charging regimens that are incorrect for the battery type effectively result in premature 'failure' of in service batteries which then can no longer be properly charged by modern chargers/alternators. The new regenerator appliance customizes a charge profile for each battery...
I know a bit about it....as i developed an add on smart turbo controller in 2010 which I never commercialized because the auto market for performance add ons is heavily branded and I didn'thave the budgets to play at that level. I prob. still have the schematics and designs for this DIY ECU but I ne...
Hello everyone: This is just a heads up as my 5 year arc of product dev. is about done and I going to make regenerated auto/marine batteries commercially available to the public in a few months. This isn't an advert., its news, so don't ask about prices, locations or availability yet. I'll take up a...
Nice build but the prob u will see is the root structures will grow down and entangle. So You might need a way to 'pull' a grow pot and 'trim' excess rooting. Also the cross section of the guttering is too small....the roots will potentially bundle up and choke off the 'rain' flow. You need about 1'...
I have a 2k5 T30 SR20VET, SAFARI GT modded with a performance ECU, S/S exhaust/coilovers etc.....no vibration. Mileage in the low 300's but...hey, gotta keep them cylinders cool.
So if your product pulls through, what are your plans in terms of production? Local prototype assembly and stress testing for durability and function and installation issues. Then packaging as a DIY kit to sidestep the myriad ESA certifications. Sourcing turnkey PCBA in the far east. Marketing, prom...
Do you have data to back up the claims made in your problem statement? Is it just observational or anecdotal evidence? It's engineering, plain and simple. If I hit your ECU with a load dump, ISO 7637 (2011) it will die. Many ECUs are equipped with MOVs for basic protection, they wear out after some...
Hi All: Problem statement: ECUs have their 'own' protection but not enough when a vehicle has alternator, harness, loom or battery problems. After a while these defects beat the ECU into early retirement. Even improperly wired, high power, Sub woofers can transient kill an ECU via inductive or trans...
I haven't had to buy a new battery in 3 years. Xtrail GT, Wingroad Rider, AD wagon and Subie Impreza. Not a cent spent. Nor will I have to spend on a new battery ever again. The comment on battery regeneration via these EU awards: http://www.ipica-project.eu/content/ipi ... s-selected is about my in...
Anyone know of such retailers? I hear of one called Mr. Battery. I am running a pilot project on rejuvenated & re rated batteries and the rejuvenated units are filling my work space, I need to start clearing space.
Positive 'corrosion' is a normal consequence of battery electro chemistry. Positive plate and buss bar 'growth' occurs as a result of inter granular corrosion. Most batteries provide space for the 'growth' to go 'down'. If this space is filled the battery +ve post will PUSH up and break the seal cau...
FYI, I have been developing new auto battery repair & re-rating tech via an innovation grant for 3 years now. Potential PhD ready science. IPO has approved patent-ablity already. I can't post details on an open forum so contact me directly at protofabtt@gmail.com. For now, I still process/rejuve...
I am a TAIL customer for 20 + yrs. They refuse to insure a 2k9 impreza RORO I just got. Says...it's too fast. They have no written policy...it's a management decision. Anyone have any suggestions as to decent insurance companies? Also I will be writing consumer affairs on this 'hidden' informal poli...
