Re: Greddy Emanage Blue VS Apexi SAFC

Going to bring this up from the dead. Are there any tuners in trinidad still comfortable working with older hardware like the Greddy Emanage Blue? I can get one for cheap but I find the documentation online re install and tuning to be very lakcing. Apexi SAFC/VAFC has more support online from what I...

Re: J32 Teana Wiper Blades - Cannot find anywhere

Thanks for the feedback. It is the regular hook type, just with a sort of offset that makes it difficult to get wipers that work with it.

I feeling tempted to just order the proper genuine ones online since they last so long

Re: Starter Servicing

From experience, the grating sound is the starter not disengaging immediately after start, usually worn bushings or springs within the starter cause this since the starter doesnt back off the ring gear on starting. If the grating sound is before the engine starts, then the internal bearings on the s...

J32 Teana Wiper Blades - Cannot find anywhere

Hi everyone, I wanted to change the wiper blades on a J32 Teana, but it seems they are different to all the other blades I've used. The blade has a sort of offset where the wiper arm attaches BELOW the blade, not directly above it like the usual ones. Regular wiper blades dont usually have enough cl...

Re: Siberian bushing review needed

I'm very interested to hear a bit more about the dryrot on the siberian bushing. I will try to remember to check back in whenever something happens to the Siberians I have on the forester, so I can maybe offer some feedback when it comes to that (maybe in a few years?) I guess the poly vs rubber arg...

Re: Siberian bushing review needed

Before buying the Siberian bushings for the Forester I spoke to a member of the subaruforester forums from Barbados extensively about it. He had nothing but good to say, and i assume he sees a similar use case as mine (mostly road, occasionally unpaved/bad road etc) So far 4 months in with it, handl...

How does the Hi-Q compare to the Mintex (red box) and the Wagner quickstop; In terms of stopping power and longevity. I don't care as much about dust. Can't speak for Hi-Q, never used Can say that Mintex definitely has a lot more "bite" than wagner quickstop but dusts about 10x as much ha...

Re: CD3 Accord

Well the filter (in engine bay) is a quick easy change. The in-tank strainer isnt as easy but you already have the pump off, so why not?

Re: Siberian bushing review needed

Well, I never used Siberian on any sort of heavy duty application, but I run whiteline polyurethane on my Hilux Surf and I abuse it on and off road and they hold up well with no noise and good handling. Like i say, the key with poly is greasing it properly, the more grease the better haha

Good car, good fuel economy, just change all fluids, esp the genuine honda dual clutch transmission fluid when you buy it.
Diaz Motors in Duncan Village Sando can sort you out for the sale or the service since they stock the genuine fluids etc

Re: WTK - Y12 front brake upgrade

Akebono sold locally, which may work out a lil cheaper than ordering but I don't know.

I find akebonos last LONG, like serious long if you not in a performance application, so I wouldnt fret too hard about slightly less pad wear material.
Great pads either way

Re: CD3 Accord

Pump in and out should be easy to test with a multimeter and a bredrin.
Can also check by putting on some clear hose on the fuel line to see if the flow is constant while engine running, or if you have bubbles/change in flow

Re: Siberian bushing review needed

Recently used some of their controm arm bushings and sway bar bushings on a SJ forester. Build quality is good and fitment is also very good. Only thing, you NEED to use a lot of grease (i use superlube) to make sure it doesnt squeak, but you may still get a little bit of noise in applications with ...

Akebono ProAct is a very good OEM replacement pad, possibly the best aftermarket option. How much the pads selling for for a set now?

Re: WTK- DC5 Disc pads

I couldn't say what specifically available for the DC5 in trinidad cause my DC5R not located in TT, but i've never had a bad experience with akebono pads which sold locally. They have a OEM replacement line (proACT) and a performance line, but both are very very good. Not sure if stop-tech sold loca...

Re: CD3 Accord

Before you change the whole distributor, take apart the distributor you have and see if you can clean up the connections on the igniter. I never actually had a whole F series distrubutor fail, it is usually that the ingiter connections need cleaning etc. Start with the free things before you move on...

Re: Toyota Surfs,Hilux and 4X4s.

I second using "oil based" coolants. I personally run the Valvoline Zerex Asian (red), which is supposed to be compatible with the Toyota coolant if your pocket kinda light like mine.

Did you end up getting the Prado? If so , how it going?
