Re: Minister: T&T now getting better fuel from Paria than it was getting from Petrotrin

I just cant understand why quality assurance issues continue to plague NP (the sole distributor). Maybe the time has come for the public to agitate for laws which specifically address damages in case where fuel supplied doesn't meet defined minimum standards. The motoring public just keep getting on...

Re: Phillip Edward Alexander calling out the big shots

Life real funny! Our system of government dictates that we will be governed by politicians. The vast majority of our population are firm in their view that politicians are absolutely not to be trusted. We therefore continue to vote individuals into office who we don't trust. The joke has to be on us...

Re: Should Venezuelan refugees be allowed to live in T&T?

Many investor class Venezuelans migrated to Florida when comrade Chavez assumed office and accounted for significant business development from Fort Lauderdale down to Homestead. In fact there are many smaller malls which sprung-up and facilitated many small businesses in the greater Miami area. In l...

Since the state witness is the supposed conduit for money movement this should be a 'slam-dunk'.
He certainly would provide all the executed remittance payments and evidence of instructions rec'd.
……..Or would he?

Re: The official tropical weather thread 2019

We have rec'd some rain over the pass 12 hours in Mc Bean, Couva and this has been welcomed.
Presently, there is quite some cloud cover and what has fallen thus far may have cleared some dust from the atmosphere but the ground remains dry.
Lets hope for the best.

Re: Breaking News: Venezuela 2019 new President Juan Guaido to be sworn in

The turmoil in Venezuela clearly demonstrates what happens in a country where citizens cannot enjoy a proper quality of life and aspirations for personal and family well being continue to be frustrated. Interestingly the history of this country over the decades suggest unrelenting pressure on the va...

This seems to be a very unfortunate turn of events.
The reference to the former COP wasn't necessary and a combative nature is certainly going to fuel more media rebukes.

When those in authority can admit imports with high sulphur content, to the extent the rotten egg scent is obvious and no one demands improvement in quality assurance standards...….this speaks to how docile the T&T public is.

Re: Question: Is Wheel banding and barreling done locally?

This brings back memories of the 70's when I did quite a few of these. Datsun 1200, Vuaxhall 2000, Corsair and others. The only tyres I had to work with were Dunlop SP68 radials. Chrome bands and centre finishers were sourced from Laughlin. Machine shop work I seem to remember Barron's and Professor...

Re: Gas not lasting as long since fuel raised?

At this time I am convinced that Paria and NP are not holding firm on quality stds for imports of fuels and things have gone haywire. Vehicles where full tuning services are executed are not h...

Re: Should Venezuelan refugees be allowed to live in T&T?

Re: Should Venezuelan refugees be allowed to live in T&T?

What is the cost of accommodating Venezuelan migrants? Assuming its $2000 per month and a total of 10000 migrants, this looks like $20,000,000 per month. An annual figure therefore is some 240 million dollars. What we talking about is healthcare, education, other state sponsored services. The questi...

What I find discomforting is our local civil aviation authority inability to be proactive in the interest of public safety.
All communication prior to the USA grounding the MAX8 &9 advised not enough infor. was available, whilst the rest of the world was taking action and not gambling with lives.
