WD Cloud is probably the Bess way to go especially if your a noob setup is easy and its going cheap on eBay now.Also I don't think these things can be upgraded so buy as much possibly in storage needed A nas maybe to much for help to set up! Maybe if you he wasn't a noobie I'd say raspberry or banan...

Currently using lubuntu 14 my system
Very stable and fast (using 1gb of ram and a 1.2ghz processor) for me so far had a few freezes that stop right after a restart but since then very smooth
Best version of Linux I used so far

Google inbox is really nun new IMO
All it does it properly sort email in folders and your usual important email stay unsorted which come in hand for me because I can't handle a notification every few minutes
All in all just wait for the final realease because you missing nothing

Only thing I'm not so fond of the Blu phones are there isn't any great support for em software wise... Have a friend with a new dual sim that suddenly all the processes are failing. And there is no PC suite for it either. There's a Google plus page for blu products, in there people post roms alone ...
