I'm in central also. YouTube streaming down to 480p and it's occasionally buffering.

My Netflix video was also freezing with sound alone playing.

Re: The DIY CCTV camera system thread

Just checked my iPad. Looks like the app updated and it now behaves in the same manner you described.

But on the plus side it wasn't saving my Favorites (screen layout) in the manner I had before. Now it works.

Win some, lose some.

If your talking about the Hikconnect app, I've only noticed that feature on iOS devices. Never saw it on Android.

Re: The DIY CCTV camera system thread

As for the guys who use the analog cameras with separate baluns and power connectors. You can use the weatherproof PVC boxes, they come with a rubber seal for the cover. The minimum size you can get locally is a 6x6 box but you can buy smaller ones online. Note that the smaller sizes are very rare.

Re: The DIY CCTV camera system thread

If you're running cables outdoors through conduit consider pure copper cables and make sure to use the weatherproof connectors even if they are in a PVC box. Water always finds a way in. If you're running the cables bare on outdoor walls, you could consider getting the UV grade data cables. You cou...

Re: The DIY CCTV camera system thread

PoE ports rated at 10Mb? not 10/100 ?!? is there a minimum gauge for the CAT5E or would it all be good generally for medium size houses? the Hikvisions NVR, who sells these. Re: The DIY CCTV camera system thread

I'd still go with the hikvision (even though they sell to other manufacturers). I've been installing these systems for the last 7 years and haven't seen any significant failures except for the occasional hard drive. The PoE capable NVRs are the best option for small businesses or homes with 4MP came...

Re: The DIY CCTV camera system thread

So I visited a computer store/establishment on the main road in tunapuna and saw that they had an 8 camera system with dvr and 60ft of cable per camera for $3,000.00 I enquired about it and was told that the brand is among the top two in the world called "Dahua" or something to that effec...

Was in pennywise plaza when the rains started around noon. Visibility was VERY low. Had to drive really slow to leave the plaza. Also noticed a lot of cars pulled over on the highway waiting for the rain to ease up.

Even if you can find your vehicle on the public database online, it doesn't guarantee they will have it at the inspection station.

ATTENTION If your getting your vehicle inspected at any of the independent stations, you might get redirected to the nearest licensing office to "query your vehicle." I was just at a station in Cunupia and they told me that my vehicle was not on their database. The independent stations are...

I've been trying to get an appointment since October. No dates were available. So I decided to try the walk-in service today at caroni. Arrived at 1pm, now leaving at 3:30pm. Had to stand in line outside for an hour and 45 minutes. The crowd was so large, they even using 2 mobile units outside. Plea...

I wish I could help more but this was 17 years ago and I dealt with a family doctor who's retired now. Were you fit at the time or over weight at that time? What exercises were prescribed to you also? A little bit of both. Wasn't taking very good care of myself. My job at the time required a lot of...

Re: Sciatica Pain *Dont post if you dont know*

I dealt with this problem for years in my last job to the point where I ended up in a wheelchair for a few days. It was diagnosed as a herniated disc, and along with the pain, it affected the nerve endings in my feet. Problem was solved with just a few weeks of core focused exercises (which I still ...

Have the same problem in the Cunupia area but with ALL the channels. Any channel you switch to would play normal for about 10 seconds then the video and audio would get choppy, then black out. Rebooted all the devices but no change. Tech support is a fail. Internet working fine, just the cable tv sc...

Re: Giant African Snail?

I've been battling these things for the past year and I can safely say I've killed a couple thousand snails. The pellets work the best, but you do have to constantly clean up the dead ones every day or their shells will cover the poison. The trick is to lightly sprinkle the pellets over a wide area ...

Try 3M splicing tape. I've used it to waterproof connectors in the past. It works just like regular electrical tape but once you stretch and stick it to a surface, it will bond and harden like PVC when wrapped around anything.

Just had to head up El Dorado. Traffic lights are out on the highway from UWI to center of excellence.... probably further down.

Don't go out unless you absolutely have to.
