Re: RE: Re: Need advice on ES8 D15 to D17 Conversion

What was the end result with this conversion???? Ended up just changing the head gasket, too many complications with the conversion as the engine may nt have been able to start when I switched the brain. It would have been possible if mine was a VTEC to being with tho, as I could have used back my ...

Re: Need advice on ES8 D15 to D17 Conversion

You said the head gasket blew. Then that would cause that loss of power. My cousin has one and I work on it, yes it's slow but it has no problem making hills etc. Well idk, I just find it have problems climbing steep-ish hills ever since I buy the car, (going on 2 years now) unless the head gasket ...

Re: Need advice on ES8 D15 to D17 Conversion

You can just drop in the head and block. U would have to wire the v tech Solioniod . Or use as is without v tech Could you elaborate on this a little, I don't wanna run it without Vtech because it may cause damage further down the line as the engine may be running lean. How do I wire up the Vtech S...

Re: Need advice on ES8 D15 to D17 Conversion

Yea that price nt bad, better than I was expecting, but to do the 2 wud be like $1600 plus the charge to tow the car there. I'd give cj a call and see, I'd rather if somebody can come by the garage and do it, that way I don't need to take time off of work

Re: Need advice on ES8 D15 to D17 Conversion

I think "fras" on the forum did something like this. You need to get the matching key and brain for the D17. They used the D15 ecu because the D17 ecu won't recognize you key and it won't start. Thanks, I was talking to him just after I posted this. I'd need to get my Key programmed for t...

Need advice on ES8 D15 to D17 Conversion

Good day tuners, The head gasket in my 2004 ES blew, so I'm looking at some different options. I was thinking of converting to a D17 one time. What I wanna know is if I just buy a D17 head and block, if all my other bolt on's will work. Also, my 1.5 is a Non-VTEC, so If i get a D17 VTEC, will I need...

Re: The OFFICIAL Sharkmouth Galant Thread

Mech recommended s 4g63 Any input? My input on the 4G63, if you can manage to find a single cam 4G63, that's a great swap for you as you just wanna get away from the GDI and nt necessarily after the speed, although the 4G63 does run nice. It's a great engine that not really high on maintenance. We'...

What's wrong with the arms? The bushing only, or is the ball joint bad also? If just bushing you can look into getting them rebuilt, not sure if the ball joints in the rear can be changed or if they built into the arm like the front. The balljoint bad on the bent arms too, and the straight arms the...
