Pio, you are on to something there. Actually, if the government goes ahead with this monstrosity of a smelter, it will lead to the downfall of pompous Patrick and his administration.

Contracts could be done signed and sealed but the people never wanted a smelter. We must understand that it is the government that is supposed to be working for us and NOT vice versa.

It is more than time that we the people force the government to listen to US.

Thanks. Will read the details in the papers but I do not get the feeling the many people care.

BUT, they certainly will when/if the smelter is built and instead of 4,000 people getting tested for cancer, 1.3 million people will have to get tested for cancer.

Smelter Judgment

So Justice Mira Dean-Armorer stopped the Alutrint smelter construction, today, because the government lied to people.

Anyone up to date with this?

Apple, I must give you credit for at least asking for advice and being willing to take both the negative and positive. It is not easy being a single mother and I can appreciate, to some extent, what you are going through. Maybe some of the tuners here will learn from your experience so that when the...

Apple: Who is in charge of your house? You? Or your child? Because you are a different type of parent - are you letting your child dictate to you? Is this part of the new child psychology that "modern" parents practice today? You clearly are not in control of your child. Assembly is a forum where th...

If you want to send your child to "summer camp" buy him/her a plane ticket and send them way north of T&T.

Otherwise, be careful what you wish for, you might get it.

Nat Geo even describes Matura beach as having a "springtime" (May 2009) issue.

Like us Trinis, the rest of the world just does not care - until it turns up in their backyard.

But colonization 21st century style is all about the Western media and how they infiltrate other societies via MTV and so on.

Hey AP. I do agree that the media plays a great role in how people perceive others. The concept of beauty as defined by the fashion industry/media can leave a lasting impression of "inferiority" for those with low self esteem who do not meet the criteria. However, I know women in the fashion/modelli...

Red Cross Symbol Now Offensive

Thanks to Sat & the Privy Council. I often wonder if I was born in India of Christian or Muslim religion and Sat was born in India of Hindu religion, how Sat would respond, if one day I decided (because the Christians or Muslims were close to a majority in India) that one of the India's highest awar...

Abstract Poetic sounds like a typical Trini who went away to study/live and got caught up in the "foreign" concept of racial segregation/identity. AP's writings clearly reflect a non-Trini stance towards tolerance of all people. A pity though because she seems quite intelligent otherwise. There was ...
