I think thats more the value of driving style. My first set lasted me about a year or 30000 Km . I agree with you lighthammer. With Mineral oil just make sure you change on time.While synthetic you can have longer drain intervals though they usually advise that you keep the recommended change interval for the oil filter. I also read that with turbo engines the additional protection of the synth...

Truly excellent. My drive is to work in heavy traffic about an hour during peak time and 15 min non peak . So I spend a lot of time idling!

Maybe you should check this article first especially the comments at the end. In a nutshell they are claiming that K&N and Turbo not a good idea because the turbo pulls air through the system and any dust that gets in can damage your turbo.

Toyotota Hilux 2008. I use Mobile Delvac. I found I used to get 300KM to Half tank. That changed to 380KM. Also the engine is much quieter and seems to able to drive at a slower speed in second and third gear
