nismotrinidappa , check this link. Thats the difficulty one faces when putting a vtec head on an LS (non vtec) block. And both are Honda :wink: Now you need to face these challenges AND the crossbreeding difficulties. VTEC isn't cam action only. And frankly, I think you have a better chance of beat...

vtec is not just a part to install and plug in you know... try reading up on how over head cam engines work and then read up on the mechanics behind vtec and then make your decision.. it will involve 100% custom rocker assembly, camshafts, ecu with 2 maps that can be switched on the fly for in vtec...

crossbreeding vtec

i am thinking of using the vtec from a honda engine to increase performance in a 6 cylinder

has anyone ever done this before?

and which one would give me more hp gains vtec or i-vtec?

you'll spin your tyres but everytime u back off the gas and u hit the gas again...u'll have to wait for the torque convertor to lock up befoe you get enough power to the wheels. can u drift succesfully with a auto tranny? especially if u have a high hp engine?
drift bible only showed cars with box.. but if u engine good u should be able to spin tyres also with tranny

your thoughts....

i kill one just this week..

it was 4 feet long and the belly was yellow and i think the back was brown.. it was trying to attack the cutlass and teh tail was quivering like a ratlesnake

start off with a box lancer or a bluebird...drop in a turbo sr or rb and start learning from there...parts cheap and u will get experience in drifting dex stability etc i working on a first gen rx right now.. i have a hilman hunter in beautiful condition that going to be sr/rb/1jz/2jz super/turbocha...

i love rwd.....if u have a awd like a skyline i think u can unhook the wire or fuse or whatever connection for the front traction (HICAS ATTESA) and instant rwd fun. rwd ole school and no power steering FTW power brakes power steering power windows power mirrors pftttttttttttttt keep it real yo!

i have drums at the back... so i will redrill the axle and the drum hub cover to 5 lugs spacing and then get it strengthened by coating it so it could take the jamming.when i have to change brakes its brake shoes i would have to change so the redrilling should be permanent... i heard i could nitride...
