Re: Tech Thread - Nissan Frontier, Navara, Pathfinder.

I bought the ac cabin filters from ROC a couple months ago, but i've been too lazy to install it.

Cost about $300 for the two filters (it's two small rectangular filters).

Still feeling too lazy to install it.

Re: B2500 4x4 vs Frontier 4x4 Which is the better van?

Frontier gets my vote. Both are equally cramped inside for space. And if you wanna lift the frontier, it's much easier to find suspension parts out of the US than for the B2500. You'll also find other things like lockers for the rear/front diffs a lot easier (unless you wanna go ARB - however ARB do...

^^ nice wheel, was thinking of changing my own previously but decided to stay with the current set.

Be aware that getting 18" tires locally is difficult though... you'll sooner get in 20" sizes.. but they can be found if you look hard enough.

Nice tires and rims, look like they'll clear water out on wet highways really well.... let us know how they perform in the wet season please.

Tourniquet - deans sells a brand called "Black Rock", but there's also a myriad of options online.
PM if interested.

Re: Tech Thread - Nissan Frontier, Navara, Pathfinder.

Tuners is it a good idea to change both fuel filters at every 5000k service ? Just came as thought cause of poor diesel we got here :/ I just changed mine out.... after 65,000km interval (my nav now reaching 117K km). No problems, and i inspected the fuel coming out of them, was relatively clean fr...

lots more backseat space than the frontier/older rangers and bt50.

can stretch out comfortably in the back now... more like an suv than a pickup.

^ a lot of locally available appliances use that double-oval shaped connector for their wires on the adaptors, eg. portable radios (remember those from the 90's and early 2000's???).

Check and see if you or a friend may have one that they willing to lend.

so far I've put about 1100km on them on highway, main roads, b-type roads and went offroading with them on a grade 2+ trail this past weekend. Basic rundown - they rock!! On pavement, they are surprisingly quiet, you'd be shocked at how quiet they really are... I'll try to post an audio recording of...

Re: Tech Thread - Nissan Frontier, Navara, Pathfinder.

I used factory shocks for a while but I upgraded recently, all the offroading I did basically obliterated those shocks and lead to bad tire junking on highway use (my old tires got very loud as they got worn and made a LOT of noise on the highway) - but if you want stock ride, better you go with OEM...

Re: Why not to use K&N filters in offroad vehicles (or work

my K&N fits perfectly in the navara, on the bike and in the forester.... the rubber seal is soft and i'm pretty sure it does not leak as yours did......maybe you got a bad one.... in all honesty, i'd send a short email to K&N describing your issue.....they have very good customer service......

Re: Why not to use K&N filters in offroad vehicles (or work

Lol ok I didn't mean to re-start the old "paper vs mesh filter" argument again... In my own personal case - the issue was poor fitment of the K&N filter into the Navara airbox, versus the stock air filter. Mind you - better airflow is always a nice thing to have esp. for forced-inducti...

Re: Why not to use K&N filters in offroad vehicles (or work

I have both the 33-2890 and 33-2080 K&N filters.... one with the horizontally laid filter elements and one with the vertically laid filter elements. Both of them don't fit properly - one falls into the airbox because it's not big enough to rest on the rim of the box, and the other has to jiggle ...

Ok, so cleanup is complete, airbox has been reassembled, van started up, running nicely. Now to take a drive down the highway and see how the performance and smoking have been affected. http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab313/lighthammer69/20140228_142125_zpsg7qimsth.jpg http://i875.photobucket.com...

Re: Why not to use K&N filters in offroad vehicles (or work

well here's the thing - when I had the stock filter in, it never let in anything into the upper part of the airbox. The problem was caused by a poorly-fitting K&N filter.... that was rated for the Navara 2.5 YD25DDTi engine. The edges of the k&N filter don't have the same rubber seal around ...

Why not to use K&N filters in offroad vehicles (or work vans

So I decided to try an experiment with a K&N drop in panel filter in my 2010 4x4 6-speed manual Navara. Wanted to see how much power gains and fuel economy gains would be had with a K&N free-breathing filter. Unfortunately I also decided to go off-roading with it installed. I thought to myse...
