As is wealth. Not every poor area in Trinidad is some criminal stronghold.

Poor and criminal aren't the same thing. Make your own road if you can afford it and if poor people disgust your family that much. It's quite possible that your construction will inspire others who will want to come up there and build, raising the overall value of the land. I've seen a few other are...

We thought so, CBH, but when we put the car up on the ramp we realized what the problem was. It was locked to the right, and the impact of the tire on the curb damaged the shocks and suspension as well. Some bending of some part under the car between the two wheels (not the axle, can't remember what...

A container full of dead children was found on the port, and the Police responded to the "reports" hours later. During that time, no port worker had a chance to take a picture of the scene using a camera or a cellphone camera. And a government that's constantly (and rightly) accused of not being abl...

Sad thing about these situations is that the people who were ranting and raving based on unfounded rumors rarely return to admit they were wrong. And the amount of effort put into spreading the rumor...the hysteria...is always greater than the effort put into quelling it. Take this thread title, for...

Shaddai, just keep total initial cost in mind. The Swift, with those discounts, will be in the 140-150K range. Let's say a 15K downpayment, including misc loan/processing costs, which will be about 2K. But your initial costs will also include insurance, which will be anywhere between 12 and 15K for ...

If the Yaris still requires that 3-month wait, are you willing to get it? Not advising either way, just reminding you about it.

rodfarva, I understand a lot better now. Didn't realize it was two options. So here's my next question: How much do you think depreciation would have figured into a 4.5-month-old Swift? How do they determine that? The fraction of the annual depreciation, an inspection, or some arbitrary formula desi...

Explain to me how a write-off works...

Hey folks. My car was involved in a small accident a few days ago. The driver is okay. The exterior damage is minor, mostly the right front bumper and fender, but somehow the airbags deployed due to the impact. Now I'm hearing that the replacement costs for sensors, airbags, seatbelts etc (combined ...
