Re: The Official Land Rover Thread

havent been on the thread in a while.... I see no one posted anything about the 2011 Defender X-Tech. Here it is.... by and large its a exterior/interior styling package... but oh so sexy it is! http://forums.trinituner.com/upload/data/a3/Land_Rover-Defender_X-Tech_2011_1024x768_wallpaper_03.jpg htt...

Re: 323F SPORT aka LANTIS PPL / WEY U AT ?

thanks for the tip... will check Gobins

Wycleft, you might have to check England for the decklid struts. I've bought quite a few parts on Ebay UK over the years and never had a problem. Just did a search and they're available... cheapest price I'm seeing NEW is 79 pounds for the pair

anyone know where to get GENUINE Mazda cam and crank seals for the B6 engine?? SS apparently doesn't have in stock, but not like I was looking forward to paying their ridiculous prices anyway... and the generic stuff apparently doesn't fit properly and leak prematurely

yea I know about HE Robinson... and actually the Wiras went up to PBK (well thats the latest series I've ever seen) Proton is a stand alone company now though (incidentally they own Lotus), and their current lineup of cars all feature in-house developed chassis's and engines, with the exception of I...

Re: Skoda Octavia is it a good buy?

that price is insane... I've seen 1.8T versions in decent all round condition sell for that much. In good condition, I'd say the 1.6 is a 40K car, so given the work it needs, 30K is reasonable.

Re: Chevy Monza

assuming its the original engine (which is in fact an Opel/Vauxhall unit), it's supposed to use 10W-40 (aka '40 body'). I personally find those engine temperamental so I won't suggest diverting from manufacturer specs. The winter performance rating of the oil (the number in front the W) is very impo...

this review pretty much sums up everything (good and bad) I've heard about the car. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jmSnWT7 ... re=recentf Price points are the important factor here... not because a 1.8 Corolla goes for 230K means the Cruze should too. Apart from the novelty of the design, it has no...

what's all the talk about repainting? Just order one in it

its an OEM colour for the SpecV version. The proper name is Ultimate Black Opal, not midnight purple

well so far so good... with the exception of a slight 'funnyness' ever so often, but I know the fluid is shot, so gotta do a fluid/filter flush and renew.

gearbox isn't an option for me at all... the kind of traffic jam I'm in daily rules that out.

Re: EOI 323F Transmission

woops, should have updated the thread turns out it was only the Neutralising Switch that was bad: took the car to Jenton, they scanned it, diagnosed this was the problem, and changed it. Took about an hour and cost $690 total... a far cry from a new (used) tranny. I'd suggest you carry you car to Je...

gary007 - get an affidavit stating you are the owner. This together with your other documents (receipts etc) should be submitted to the Transport Commissioner. The transfer will then be done was he's satisfied you are indeed the owner (tried and tested method) lana - checking the certified copy will...

323F Transmission Issue **FIXED**

 My tranny started to give problems today... 'D' and 'S' positions only engaging 3rd gear, L engaging 1st. However, if I go around a fast corner or hit a very rough patch of road, shifting through all gears reverts to normal, before getting stuck again in 3rd. Hold light has not come on at all ...

lol, its not for my car but thats a swap I've always wanted to do... thing is I know it'll send me mad. Alpha_2nr agree with there... I dont know where ppl get all that nonsense from, based on OIL of all things. There is no miracle liquid, be it oil, gas treatments etc, that will give you a discernible difference in performance GLXXXTACY you have a point. I would admit that I was guilty of oil change...

Re: WTK: Which is better oil

^^^ d only odda oil i tried wuz Mobil 1 10w30, there wuz a discernable reduction in power. becuz that's too thin for that engine (assuming u also have a Lancer). 10W30, though the most versatile oil body, will not lubricate effectively in an engine that from the outset, needs a denser oil, and does...

Re: WTK: Which is better oil

Amsoil is overrated IMO... the only data showing its 'superior' is from sources that are actually selling their products. Analysis of 3rd party results using industry standardised tests show Amsoil isn't any better than RP or Redline... actually it performed worse... but relatively speaking of cours...

the 4G1* series of Mitsu engines supposed to use 10W40, but given our climate and the engine's lack of variable valve timing, 20W50 is fine

Re: WTK: Which is better oil

Redline has a slightly higher (almost negligible) viscosity index, which relates to how stable oil viscosity remains in cold and hot conditions. However, Royal Purple has a superior flow rate... actually its one of the best period. This means it'll protect the engine faster at each start up. It migh...

well the only 'fix' I found online is to clearcoat the outside of the reservoirs... I guess when they're in new condition. The article spoke about using a Rustoleum heat resistant clear coat product. Guess I'll try in due course

I should also add that regular MBs with an AMG package do NOT come with any AMG badges on the bodywork.

MB would be shooting themselves in the foot if they did this, by severely cheapening the AMG brand

silicone spray has the same water repelling/ moisture dispersing properties of WD40, but does not erode rubber or plastic. It actually does the opposite by protecting it, and preventing dry rot. oxidation, I wouldnt recommend that at all. Again, belts are rubber, not to mention belts need some frict...
