Whats your input on a good engine oil TREATMENT.

i know what its used for and stuff, but what i want to know is what is a good brand of OIL TREATMENTand you views. did it work for you???

Honda and Castrol GTX
i will only use these two, i have been very happy with them
and you know the Honda one is the best..

HondaB20B, why would you use oil treatment especially with the setup you are running?
I thought the beast was rather picky on oil related issues.

I was contemplating this:

Engine Treatment Oil MT105 has been developed as a part of Mugen engine components and is used for racing engines, including F1.

Havent heard any reviews though

vexx dogg, its not OIL i' lookin for. I'm running Honda 10W30 oil rite now.
you know how it have like SLICK-50 and some other brands which protects your internals especially for startup??? all i wanna find out is what other brands is out there and do they realy work. bout 10 years back when i had bikes, i used to run slick50 and it worked real good. I even think QMI has one also.

no.....

no oil treatment, it's all hype. all it does at the end of the day is compromise the oil package, mess up clearances and do thing that are generally unpleasant.

It's tempting to use it I'll admit but if Honda R&D approves the OEM oil package, why add something else to it that, based on their research, has no purpose being in there.....I mean, if their engines are so good, don't you think the oil they supply should be equally good?

Never used this stuff on a honda before as I only run straight up honda oil or 20w50 havoline... but I used to use Lucas Oil stabilizer on my Firebird.... they make good stuff.

But honestly, with the type of clearances used on a stock honda 4 cylinder... I wouldn't use a treatment, the change in viscosity is disturbing.

DOn't use any oil treatment. Tried it once, made no difference whatsoever.

Don't waste your money, buy a good oil and done.

dont, waste your money , buy good quality oil, either mineral or synthetic.
the lubricant,s of today are of very high quality. GM is considering 12K oil
change intervals.

I used to use shell 20W50 in the B16 or quaker state 20W50. Normal oil.

I have been using the Slick-50 for years.. Remember its just an ENGINE LUBRICANT COATING that is used once in every 100K. I used it on a Mazda engine and got extremely good service outa that engine. Lasted me years with little engine block and ring wear ( engine was burning 'white' up until when i sold the car ) with a north/south run on a daily basis. I applied it to my B16A and so far, every thing running good. I am due to open up my engine this week for routine maintenance.. so I will see what it looks like. I have also been using Castrol 20W50 for all those years. :mrgreen:
