Still smokin! Please help.

Postby Jinx2004Riceboy » May 12th, 2004, 9:32 am

I had white-blue smoke coming from my exhaust at idle and under acceleration after I changed my oil. After I had only a quart on there, it stopped. What would cause my car to blow smoke with a little oil, and be fine when the oil is full? I checked the timing, idle plugs, head gasket, coolant, and dizzy with no uck. It's a 1990 Civic D15B2. 193,200 miles and countin baby!

your burning oil.. if you have checked those things (and I doubt you reallllly checked all of them) then I dont know, maybe your valve seals?

I KNOW I'm burning oil. I just don't know how it's getting into the combustion chambed. Inshan said maybe bad rings or bad valve seals.

Bad rings boy, how much times we telling yuh that. You are getting blow-by. And I wouldn't run my engine on one quart of oil if I were you.

i think that a compression test would give a good indication on the condition of the rings and valves, if it is acceptable then your problem might be valve seals.
