Advice needed on engine upgrade

I recently purchase a 99-00 model civic BUT its a non vtech, d16 engine I believe.

It have already minor parts like extractors, exhaust piping and intake but no significant improvement.

So i'm ready to start planning my next performance upgrade.

I'm on a student's budget so i'll be going for something that would be cost effective.
Thus B18,K20 and all those other expensive engines would be out of my reach.

I'm thinking b16, mayb turbo my engine or do the mini swap.

Please feel free to make other suggestions and also an average cost for the particular set up.

Wouldn't that require more fabrication and parts?

What wud be the average cost of complete swap vs B16?

you can buy a swap kit for the h22 but i recommend either turbo or b16 given your constraints

b16 cuz u will jus add on more and more parts to your d series and get small gains ........ i hav a dseries in a stock hatch

if u plan to go b would u sell these parts ? cuz i goin b18c but not rite now i goin to squeeze out the life out of my d series first
