Early adopters having some issues with the new civic.

Problems with surging of the CVT transmission when holding a speed or using cruise control.
Also reports of the 1.5 T overheating.

Might be a good idea to wait a few months until the initial kinks have been identified and smoothed out.

Aunt has one in the US, EX-T. No complaints so far though I did make her aware of those reports of the surging.

They get cars assembled in US.
We should be getting Thai made Civic's so there might be some part differences in addition to the build quality.

Anyone seriously considering buying the new Civic?

I am thinking about it cause I need a car. I am a bit worried tho as I am hearing about some teething issues.
American models getting some electric faults and Thai build models suffering from build quality issues.

WIll go check it out soon once its in the show room and hopefully post some pictures.

Saw the car in the Flesh!

Build quality seems very good! Also test drove a 1.6 NA version.
Very nice high quality interior and you feel like everything is wrapped around you.
Only things I did not like was the lack of cruise control and that the driving position was very low. Kept falling into the seat when trying to get in.
Dash is digital and 7 inch screen is very nice but a little bit slow and a little buggy.

Checked it out myself yesterday. Not bad at all. Shame about the price though. Just too much in my opinion vs its competition. Was due to test drive myself but person before me decided to make a long drive, longer than I had planned to wait for it.

Repost the pics nah!

The high price was always expected, since they used to sell the older model for 240. They also have a launch pricing 229 for the low end and 259 for the highend model.

I am probably going to go with a turbo model but I am not paying that 279 price, I will be bargaining hard to get the launch price.

Ansa have been known to drop their prices significantly if you are stubborn enough.

Saw an interview with the engineers. Apparently the design team went to Europe and test drove the luxury euro brands and looked at their ride quality and NVH and checked out how they engineered their cars. Alot of the American reviewers are commenting that the car feels almost european and the ride quality and suspension does not feel Japanese at all.
