Civic Brain Box Issues

Postby supercool dx » March 5th, 2016, 11:17 pm

Are there anyone who can repair an ECU. I am having problems finding the ecu for the 2005 civic i.e ES5 with the 1600 engine. Also looking for the ECU for it. Does any one know if the normal ES1/ES8 brain box will work. Help.

Scan tool give code as ECM circuit failure. Did a swap.purchased a complete engine/transmission ,brain box ,ignition switch ,keys, instrument panel, all the harness, basically everyrhing from a front half. Carried it by the electrician after installation and it was not staring. It cranked, we got fuel, plugs was firing but was not starting. I scanned it and this was the number one fault. Any suggestions. How can i know if the brain ks good or not. Thanks

My scan tool is a launch and it picked up 33 errors. O2 sensor was not installed as the exhaust was not in. So alot of them swas o2 related. I cant remember the rest. But does p1607 mean the brain is bad or could it be a ground fault or fuses or relays. If i can confirm that p1607 does not necessary mean brain box is damaged i will try troubleshooting. Thanks

Yup. Internal fault in the PCM. The most you can do is ensure powers, grounds and general circuitry are good before installing the replacement. New brain would need to be reprogrammed to recognize immobilizer etc. If applicable.
