Electrical issues

Postby kevreem » November 2nd, 2016, 10:31 am

Hey guys back again so I did the swap front not vtec to 3 stage but I'm having some electrical issue .
First was a idle problem and a check light.
now I'm having a crank but no start issue . Hooked up an external coil. It started for a while. But not starting anymore.
Need some help .

For the idle issue, remove tb and service. Also, remove the iacv, disassemble, service and reinstall.

Check pcv valve ( it's above the oil filter)

Check for vacuum leaks

Could start with these before anything else.

There's also a self duagnostic feature on the car. Research how to and the error codes and try it

Iacv was taken apart and cleaned. But I did some research and it turns out I need to do a intake swap from 3 wire to 2 wire.

Dat was for the idle . Which I believed is solved but still have this . Crank no start issue now. did some tests and figured the coil was bad. Can't find a distributor right now . So I had a medalist coil hooked up to get spark.
It started for a while . But won't start anymore. Coil is working when u manually ground it off. But no current when tumbling. Checked the fuel system and ignitions fuse intact.

If he used an external coil, it's ek3 type not the coil pack type d15 that comes on the es8
