2009 Local Honda Civic - Rear camber issues

Postby mrreaz » October 21st, 2018, 8:10 am

Need some advice on 2009 Local Honda Civic - Rear camber issues.

Checked with the alignment shop, and they said the rear cannot camber and i need to install a camber kit, to prevent tyre cutting.

I checked a few places but no luck in finding same.

Saw this online (pic also), but not sure if its the correct part:

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Dunno the rear suspension on this car, but an old trick I used on my old 93 Civic was to use longer bolts and washers to correct minor camber issues. If it's about 3-5 degrees off might be worth a look

Normally happened when the rear bushings are worn.

Using a camber kit corrects the camber but leaves the issue of worn bushings.

Could also do like VexXx said and space the camber arms but placing washers between the arms and the body where it bolts. But again this just corrects the camber issue

This is a regular occurrence with the rear end of civics even with no bad bushings. The camber kit is the only legit way to correct it.
Spacing with washers is the bandaid fix that most people do but this can only help with about 1/2 degree or less. Any more than that and you run the risk of the bolts snapping or bending.

This can be a cheaper alternative- Rear Camber Kit +/- 1.25 Left & Right Honda Civic 06-11 FWD https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079HD1SDK/re ... ZBbVNR001D

noo padna.... that is the mango tree mech way.

yes it can be used in a jiffy to fix the issue temporarily.... but a permanent solution is to get the correct thing.

bolts and stuff cud break eah.... just sayin..

Actually, no! It works fine. It's an iterative process in getting it dialed in right and not as convenient as a camber arm but it is far from "mango tree" mechanics

Additionally, an bolt could break, that is a weak argumentative point. Just use a longer bolt.

And I on honda #7, I've seen this many times before....

I would take a spaced oem honda camber arm over any garbage aftermarket adjustable camber arm.

guys as we on the talk of honda civics...

what are your opinion on replacing damaged long hard lines that run under the car with steel braided hoses??
like these

complete kit for drum brakes >>> https://www.ebay.com/itm/Complete-Front ... 5040!US!-1

Image

complete kit for disc brakes >>> https://www.ebay.com/itm/Complete-Front ... 5040!US!-1

both kits replace your damaged long hard lines along with the rubber hose that goes to each caliper.

I would just get the hardline from a crash or shell that scrapping. More cost effective solution
