tyres

Postby dredman1 » March 21st, 2019, 3:14 pm

Trying to help a friend find a set of 225/55/18 tyres locally.

Price is no issue for them, so was looking at either Michelin or Continental.

Quikservice has no Michelin that size in stock until end of May (last price was ~$2500 per tyre).

Tried Ramrattan's, but no Conti that size in stock.

No luck at L&DG either.

Any suggestions where might have?

Pirelli Corsas for $530

J/k

Will need to know exactly which model to say, but that's a decent price for Pirelli in general, and it safe to say it better than all those no-name chinese brands out there now.

Unless its a Pirelli snow tyre they trying to palm off on you

That's actually a pretty decent tyre.

According to Tirerack its a grand touring summer tyre - not the typical all season tyres you usually get here.

Treadwear is high at 420, but it should last decently long.

I say go for it, as the price seems worth it.

Looking for some 285/35 R18 (can be wider, up to 305) and 255/40 R18. I’ve been calling all over but no luck. Can anyone help out?

What's the wear rating on those?
I will soon be in the market and am eyeing either a General or Firestone tyre.

Try Tyre Clinic. You may find Dunlop DZ102 in that size.

I think the 205/50/16 was $600-650ish so maybe around there. Used them on a Mazda 3.
