Stopping distance, especially in wet, wet handling, hydroplaning and noise are very important to me. Any tyre can work ok in the dry if not pushed. Chinese tyres are not particularly well known for these traits, especially in the same tyre.

give Kaums muffler in barataria a call...they sell some firestone and bridgestone in the tire department
prices were not bad and they have some tire specials through the year
a 15" bridgestone potenza was like 611 VI
also vibes courts megastore on the highway, i think they get stock from kamus but may have what is sold out at kamus

DZ102 is just ok on the dry, noisy AF and pretty sheit in the wet.
Mileage Mack has:
Toyo T1 Sport - $960
Toyo Proxes TM1 - $960
Kumho KH27 All Season - $850 (This out as its an all season tyre)
Any opinions on the Toyos? Other recommendations at $1k max?
Want a non chinese Summer performance tyre. Car is not very powerful but the wife drives on the highway to POS daily and she speeds. A lot.
Strugglerzinc wrote:Thanks, will look at all the above, with the exception of maybe the Maxxis.
Not convinced about Maxxis. Many people have said they're good, but these people also told me DZ102 good.
I have trouble accepting a chinese brand can outperform the old trusted names. Maybe I'm wrong, but is just me.
Need a tyre to handle the daily POS run as well as 6AM Las Cuevas and the twice yearly run through Forest Reserve in Tobago

Not all maxxis are good but the same can be said for bridgestone, Michelin, kumho, Dunlop, sumitomo, Goodyear, Hankook, pirelli, etc. Sometimes you realize that a tyre you deemed as being bad, was a lot better than you give it credit for because you haven't driven on much else.
Give us an idea of what you have driven on before
