transmission or what?

Postby soulreaver » November 20th, 2011, 7:20 pm

need some help. got a 323f and on mornings or if i dont start the car for long periods it takes a while for the gear to kick in, reverse works fine but when in drive and i press gas it only revs and kicks in after a while of if i leave the car to warm up a few minutes (at least 5-10). is this a sign that the transmission is going?

Go through the phone book and give one of the transmission guys a call. They usually have specific hours early in the morning (eg. between 8-10am) for test drives and diagnosis and the remainder of the day is spent on rebuild jobs.
Call one of them and make an appointment for a test drive and have them see if it's a faulty component or needs a complete overhaul.

right now im based in tobago so i will have to weigh my options, or probably come over and get it checked. also when i move off the car sort of jolts into second gear most times. i kno its suppose to be a smooth movement, and u could feel as if its stiffling

Does your 323 have a hold button?
if so see if when you start on mornings the hold light on dashboard blinks.
