RB26DETT or 2JZ-GTE

Postby TeamH2O » June 11th, 2005, 12:22 pm

ok a friend of mine needs quick quick info on which would be the better motor to go....the choice is RB26DETT with 6fwd box or 2JZ-GTE with automatic transmission!

The motor is going in a vehicle and the most he wants to do is raise to about 14psi on boost and wants to know which would be faster in terms of just raising boost. Tough choice bcuz of the engines, i know.

But later on, like next year is when modifications start, but any info would be nicely accepted!

just got back from the place, they say they might take the 2jz, first thing came to mind was no replacement for displacement, especially turbocharged....

but just one thing to find out, is teh 2jz healthy for daily driving at 16psi? heard stories of it running off 16psi daily without ANY problems, providing it has a good size front mount intercooler, 3" downpipe, fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator.....

tell yuh boi go with the 2jz but he have to spend ah pound and a crown to actually get that car to pull off hard as we have seen with the supras in T&T the RB26DETT is a hell of ah engine power is there alll the time expecialy if you get the AWD system up in a vehicle that is lighter than the skyline making the car a skyliner skyline linesky skysky WTF i eh know what I was saying but RB26 all the way
