xtrail problems

Postby neals » December 26th, 2013, 8:19 pm

hai guys. so i was driving along the highway, and suddenly my rpm drop to 1000 and then the van cut off. i tried starting back, at best it stayed on for 1-2 seconds and cut off again. rough idle never making it to 750rpm and cuts off...

air filter clean, no blown fuses. no bad gas/ actually has gas..
belt still attached.

im at a loss. any help please

Unless its a broken harness, it is unlikely you can repair a TPS. The XTrail has electronic throttle control.

Search P0120 on youtube. There is actually a video on the QR. Dunno how valid it is.

Yow breads. Did you get this sorted yet? I have an Xtrail too - so I'm curious.

Try resetting the ECU
if it backfiring make sure you put back the plugs and coil wires correctly
Tyre king i was also thinking along this line but normally f the crank shaft starts to go as you said you can start back and go again.
check also your MAF sensor

Possible.
Take out the head and see if that's the problem.
You can manually turn the engine and see if the valves move probably

An engine leakdown test can verify whether or not you have a stuck valve.

Probably solved or sold by now but valve is a good bet compression/leak down test.

lol funny enough, the mechanic said 'the valve got stuck open' ... after changing tps, changing fuel pump.

If you have confirmed that either is bad you can change it unless they are in a single unit.
