Hook.
I can relate to you. Someone who thinks on a different level. They would do themselves a world of good to read and try to understand. Cross sectional area change and loss of thermal efficiency is another topic....

I didn't get into it cuz it would've strayed, and then I'd hafta refresh my own memory on the topic as well so I stuck to "lining up and smoothing the pulses".

If anyone bolting up an exhaust would intermittently start the car at each stage you'll see the effect on both the sound and how the engine runs. Designing an exhaust system isn't just about getting the exhaust gas from one end of the vehicle to the other.

ok then, if it depends on the type of engine, how I'm using the car and how fat my" pocketbook"is, what muffler would you suggest for a D15b non vtec civic engine to get more power at an affordable price and by who?

NO muffler will allow you to make more power without upgrading the entire exhaust system, then you will still need to upgrade the header and intake to see any reasonable gain..

My advice, the D15b is fairly poor at gaining power from boltons unless you plan to turbo.. Leave it stock, or go all the way with it.. Don't waste your money otherwise
