Postby psycho68 » May 6th, 2014, 1:35 pm

Check your idle air valve.
Check the coolant temp sensor.

i recently work on one the guy bought a brain distributor and a couple other thing. So his electrician/mechanic told or advised him to do. After i checked it out it turned out to be the wiring harness had some shorts.

well d mech say it was torqued to spec. will do a compression test and leakdown test on saturday and report back. didnt get to visit an electrician yet. so far it seems to only cut off wit d ac on.

dont no if dis is normal or even related but in chkin for loose fuses or relays d rad fan relay seems to be hot even tho d fans havent come on as yet. i also noticed start up smoke increasing more and more as how it was b4 i changed the valve seals

sounds like the car isn't idling up like it should.

It only puffs smoke on start up?
What about after sitting idling for a while and then accelerating?

nope wont result in shutting down issue.
The valve seals are easily torn if not careful when installing them.

Don't knw if that engine uses coil packs...if it does its worth checking cuz if one is bad it can cause a hot engine to stall since this is when tiny holes in the coil pack stem expands and causes ur spark to leak.
