I am considering doing the following sequence and evaluating.
1) A grounding kit
2) Replacing coil pack connectors
3) replacing the ignition control module (maybe it's keeping the coil packs on start mode during run resulting in higher voltage to the packs)
Any other advice?
thx

The ICM might be running too much dwell time and saturating the coil packs causing heating. In effect START mode (Low voltage cranking needs more dwell) is active all the time instead of RUN ( 14.4V needs less dwell to charge the coil) mode.
Only slapping on an O'Scope and comparing the dwell/spark sequence to another fielder can really evaluate that.
Since we have a warm climate I might be able to get by with a small ohm resistor in the 12V coil pack ign feed to reduce coil pack loading, rather than an ICM replacement.
