kdere wrote:Ok guys. Got my b15 this afternoon and it's a bit off a fixer upper. I have a couple of problems I hope some off you could shed some light on. First I'm getting very rough idle always and then losing power at times. To switch to neutral then restart then. The steering rack also needs changing so I will be going looking for that tomorrow. The car was in an accident late last year and been down since. I was wondering if carrying it for a service will help with this idling problem and loss of power by chance. Thanks in advance for any help

Carrying it for service should definitely help with the idle issue and power loss since the car
was parked for a while. Also long runs may help blow the muck and dust in the fuel and air system
I think.

Thanks for all the replies fellas. Since I got it I changed the injector rail, all 4 coil packs, spark plugs, coolant overflow, flushed the radiator, fuel pump and filter (was filled with mud),manifold (mechanic had to buy a whole engine to get it) and still I haven't gotten around to doing a service. It only idles sometimes now in traffic. The manifold had cracks in 2 off the pipes. Slowly but surely she is getting there.

I did some work on a white b15. It had some spoke wheels. Interior stock but below the dash was damaged. Car was also badly repaired from a previous accident. Trouble tree. I hope you didn't buy it by some freak accident

Na. Different one. Sounds really similar just mine has always been on stock hub caps. My straightener did a fantastic job but can't say the same for the mechanic and for the person who had it before's maintenance.

could it be the steel rims and tyres? too big and causing a wavy feeling?

use 1 from a y11 small lite wingroad

lol, wanna make sure if I put the sr20det, the car can handle boss

I now realized a steel rim bend, could that cause a shakeyness at high speeds and always the pedal to vibrate plenty when stopping hard?

install all 4 strut / sway bars
front upper front lower rear upper and rear lower
lowering spring & sport shock
proper rim and tyre...and you should be good to go

dont forget poly cradle bushings, end links, & stabilizer poly bushing 8-)

TSC on the forums another powerseller like you !!!! 8-)
be aware - hes located in Rio claro but its worth the drive....megan racing brand 8-)

remember PROPER lowering spring and sport shock..dont do the mango tree method of cut / heat springs / cut and rethread shocks...

nick (tuner imports) on the forums has TEIN lowering spring...also iirc Y11=B15 ...also TSC has eibach springs...

shocks wise KYB AGX...or do like me and go for Bilsteins 8-)

BTW pedal vibrating hard could mean there is an issue with the caliper piston being stuck - or uneven wear on the rotors...

Got cross drilled slotted rotors, I get a vibration at 85km/h and 120km/h or so, I figure I need speed balancing but also the bend steel rim will cause that.

Got some items from TSC already, far drive but good stuff

Really And truely that's an overkill for a stock sr20det. The 11" setup from the vvl equipped nissans will suffice.

Also a p11 rear disc conversion will help.

How much should a p11 rear brake setup cost so?
