Hey guys, I realise this thread is a lil old but I need some assistance. Anyone knows where I can get a QR25DE engine (Singapore) to work with this model (local) . Seems its hard to come by, checked alot of dealers bamboo etc ,well except Massy and no one has one. This is the same engine that came with the local models.

Has any tuner installed a remote start on their X-Trail? If so, does it in any way interfere with the stock immobilizer?

My $0.02

T30
QR20DE - descent performance
QR25DE - impressive performance for its time

T31
MR20DE - subpar performance
QR25DE - descent performance

T32
MR20DD - descent performance
QR25DE - tba

If the taxes did not increase and roro was the route you intend to go then the T31 2.5 with sunroof would have been ideal. Sadly you will just have to settle for a fully loaded T31 2.0

I was responsible for procuring two of these T31's for the office from NM Auto at the time. One was the basic and the other was fully loaded. The fully loaded model added extra's such as leather seats, dual front powered and heated seats, hill descent control, projector xenon headlights and 17" rims. The fabric model came with 16" rims and normal halogen headlamps.

As far as I can recall, all T31's imported by Massy are 2.5 with sunroof. For the refreshed T31's, all of them came fully loaded ie. with leather and xenon lights etc. These updated versions got a new instrument cluster, LED tail-lamps, reverse camera and 18" rims.

Please note, I noticed that the roro T31's so called 'leather' seats are not the same quality as the local ones. All are fake leather I know but the local Massy versions are superior. Those roro seats are like vinyl. Also, AFAIK, some roro units came with the proximity remote and keyless start feature but the local ones came with the key-in ignition start with NATS on the fob ie. Nissan Anti-theft System which is keyless entry with engine immobilizer.

Someone asked what is the top speed on these Xtrails? I firstly would like to see proof that a roro 2.0 can make it to 180kmph because even if it does, it would not go any further. The 2.5 T31 we used maxed out at 180kmph as well which led us to believe that even the local units were subject to the same speed limiter.

The performance between the 2.0 and 2.5 is like night vs day in terms of acceleration. Any typical 1.5/1.6 compact sedan will blow the socks off that roro 2.0. Some of these aggressive sedan drivers become very amused when the licks is reversed with a 2.5. I suppose plenty people don't realize that some Xtrails are 2.5 and there are a handful of them on the roads in contrast. Try not to intimidate an aggressive 2.5 owner because chances are your silly compact car will get owned (SiR, Mivec, Sport20, BZR and SSS boys are exceptions lol).

We no longer have them as they were sold and probably crashed by now because we never saw them again. Yesterday I met a gentleman who has a local PDC for sale and its in mint condition. He calling $280k. I did not bother to note his # and he never knew trinicarsforsale existed before....I suppose if anyone may be interested in the future, keep checking the site.

Nice article there acesinghit.
I saw some thing I never knew.
May I add:

In the Ro-Ro models.
The T30 GT model had a SR20VET Turbo, and the diesel had a YD22.
The T31 had a M9R diesel.
The T32 model from 2015 has a Hybrid.
Peace.
RR.

Yup I totally forgot those t30 Gt's. Very rare indeed! I should also mention as of the T31 afaik, it now uses the electric power steering system vs the more conventional hydraulic power assist belt driven version in the t30. Theoretically we are supposed to see fuel economy improvements on the t31 mr20de vs the t30 qr20de. Maybe some actual owners can contribute further.

Good day folks i have a t31. And looking for a mechanic familiar with it. Im having a starting issue.

When the vehicle is cold it starts half dead and after a couple seconds it goes up. The throttle body has been cleaned and serviced but the problem still persists.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your filter on the pump in the gas tank take it down have it cleaned and you're good to go.

So I found an app that could take a picture of the screens and translate it in English. Google translate. It's really useful. I managed to hook up my phone through Bluetooth to the deck....where would I get the band expander to buy?

Name/Link for app?

Btw you should be able to find the band expander in most electronics stores that carry auto electronics like head units, speakers, etc.
