QG tranny problem

Postby turboconch2 » October 24th, 2014, 9:51 am

Hey guys, i know alot of ppl have had problems with almera trannys but from searching the forum i never got a clear idea how they fixed it. My problem is when the car is cold, early morning or when im leaving work, the reverse works properly, then when i place it in drive, i have to wait a little while for it to kick in. over the period two weeks it progressively is becoming worse every morning. What can i do to repair this? Transmission oil changed 15K ago.

Rebuilding the valve body with new seals usually fixes the problem and you could change your clutches one time. There is also the option of buying a foreign used one which is cheaper than rebuilding.

Thx guys. Actually evo I tried the brake fluid thing. It actaully worked. I knw its temporary but will run it until I buy the foreign tranny. Hate the idea though. I always take care of my baby, will do it though instead of rebuild.

Actually, the brakes fluid might very well surprise you ... I had that problem about 3yrs ago and after trying that, tranny working good still ....

but fellas i just check my qg tranny oil level n it only have like a quart in it. Other than a leak what would have caused the oil to disappear? Cuz i do not think i have a tranny oil leak...
