Sylphy B17 Fuel Gauge Busted

Postby jose123 » September 29th, 2017, 8:11 pm

Anyone can fix or recommend someone who can fix the fuel gauge in the B17?
I have confirmed that it is not the physical gauge, but something with the float mechanism.

Does it have a check engine light coming on? There is also a digital display to show you how many km till the tank runs out, is that working?

Check engine light was coming on intermittently and there was a very slight vibration at idle. Champ Flues Auto saw the 4th chamber giving probs. With the 4th shut down there was no MIL. They switched around the plug and coil. MIL came on. Did an injector cleaning and that seemed to have solved it. Recently, though, there is a slight vibration again.

The km-tank indicator just shows blinking dashes. The fill up light is always on.

The km/l indicator says 12.6 km/l which seems close to what the car is doing. It's using 24l for around 300km.

if its not the physical gauge on the dash - as you confirmed its good - but rather the sender unit in the tank then you'll have to replace the entire sender unit - its one assembly.

you can try removing it and cleaning it - its a DIY thing...

Nissan likes to reuse components for different year vehicles to lets hope they did the same with the fuel tank pump and sender unit assembly.
