As stated above, I’m getting great deal on a frontier 4x2 however I’d like some advice. I’ve hear that owners have complained about countless issues with the 2.5 turbo engines. Can anyone share their two cents on this topic? Also what’s the average price for a head and block?
You can also list other common issues with this unit.
Thanks a lot yall.

i dont own one but if its used things to look out for.

1. bad turbo - ie shaft play - beware of coking on the turbo charger as well.

2 beware of poor maintenance - poor maintenance leads to expensive repair and of course the typical trini mech mantra "buy ah head and block"

3 service on time and use good quality lubricants.

4. if its a over heating issue u concerned about use proper coolant and upgrade to a 3 core aluminum radiator.

The was a well know manufacturer's defect, in some assembly parts, of the engine (yd25), in that model frontier. Believe it was the con rod bolts, but I could be wrong...

If you're a gambler, go ahead

If you want a frontier, look for the td27 or qd32 models. Most not powered, but no inherant engine issues as compared...
