Nissan Serena door open function stopped alerting after the vehicle was hit in the left back fender. What parts are inside that area that would cause this problem?

Door ajar warning is typically functioned by the body control module sensing that the cabin lighting circuit is energized. A faulty door switch or broken lighting circuit wire or connection can cause the fault.

It can also be a blown indicator lamp/led. It could also be a fault in the instrument cluster board or wiring.
