Tetsuya Kawasaki, the burnout king of the event, made it clear the Nissan did more than granulate rubber as it blasted to a best-ever 7.18 at 190.62 mph

what it really came down to, is availablility, remember the RB wasn't available in the US till recently, and as a imported USED engine, where they got the 2JZ almost 10 years ago now in domestic MK4 Supras... so allot more time and R7D was put into teh 2J by americans who have made it their Dyno queen

and i agree too becuase the americans have recently discovered the SR and have stock bock, pistons and rod SR20DET's making over 600+whp (over 700 to the crank) - so i am sure with the right parts, tuner and money we will start to see them shine..

^^^ Tru Dat. When you realise that toyota sells the supra in the states but most people can only have wet dreams about the R34 GT-R. That was YEARS of trial and error for the 2JZ and look at it now... the king of the import tracks.

Even the RB powered b12 that RS200 talked about still has to get a few gremlins out the system and get it tuned to their liking. They might even have the same learning cuve to go thru as the people who tuned the 2JZ engine. I've seen the B12 get REAL licks from the 2JZ powered solara. But from the info given by RS... they got a lot sorted out.

But if its a Japanese dragster... then the playing field might be even.

Great info, people think that there is only one type of RB25, they don't know about the one without the bump in front. It's the RB25DE Non-Turbo. I have one in my C33 and it has a 5 speed transmission. Alot of people says it's a RB20 with a RB25 cover, so I have to tell them that is a RB25DE Non-Turbo. My mechanic who specializes in C33 Medalist's and RB engines says that it runs pretty good for a non-turbo. I ran an A31 RB20 Turbo 5 Speed Manual and I out ran it!!! RB engine's are the best engines out there. Just my opinion! WORD!
