Article in Hot Rod magazine .

Postby ..77. » October 8th, 2010, 9:22 pm

There is an interesting article in November 2010 Hot Rod magazine on some guys getting the use of old air strips to run some drag races on . Maybe it could help with the no drag races in Trinidad problems ..77.

there is a strip in caroni, not sure how long it was. Its south of fredrick settlement, and no its not part of the abandoned horsetrack, i went there about 2 yrs ago, its a bit narrow for adding a return lane, it was hell to get to though, we had to use the 4wd range to get there.
i'd doubt that the farmers would like us using it though.

it was a bit weird to see this paved runway in the middle of the bush, it looked like it was used for small planes.

Probably someone knows of somewhere else like this one.

We checked that 5 years ago
Its too short, too narrow, difficult to get to and is on privately owned land, we could not get permission to use it.
We have checked everywhere.

I am currently working in Nevis as an advisor to the Ministry of Sport in the operations and upgrading of their Drag Racing Facility.
Imagine an island with a population of less than 13000 people have a purpose built drag strip and we don't have one back home.
Thanks TTASA...

Last time we checked, there was a scrap iron dealer operating on Carlsen Field.
